We basically just added 8-15 points and 2-8 rebounds per game for 5 million bucks. That's not too bad.

This was a no brainer trade. David lee is now the best player on the celtics.  I'm plenty happy with this. Now just have to see what comes next.

David Lee averaged over 18 points and 9 rebounds in just over 33 minutes 2 seasons ago.  If he would not have been hurt to start the year, he might have still been starting last season rather than losing his spot to Green.

David Lee is a very good player.

Yeah for all the snark (mine included) he may immediately be our best player on offense. And his per-minute averages were not too far off last year.

Well that is disappointing.

Don't we have enough problems finding minutes for Sullinger and Olynyk with Amir, Ty Zeller and Jerebko already on board?

Do we really need to add a PF who is going to complicate that even further?
Another deal will happen is my guess

Sully, zeller, ET and maybe rozier traded

For Lawson, Chandler, future 2nd

Johnson
Lee
Chandler
AB
Lawson

KO
Jerebko/Mickey
Crowder
Smart
IT
that's just a gross overpayment.  don't see the reason to add lawson when we have IT who's another short PG that has issues on D.  Chandler is meh.  if Faried was included, maybe.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
David Lee and Amir Johnson should start. Two best big men on the team.

Two guys who probably have no future here and will be gone in 12 months time and whose playing time will come at the expense of young up and coming players.
I feel like this means the C's either have a deal lined up for one or both of Sullinger/Olynyk or they don't think enough of those guys that giving them heavy minutes was something they needed to do.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

David Lee is a very good player.

The most amazing thing about this is that Wallace is actually 3 months YOUNGER than Lee.  Has 30 ever hit a player so hard?

I dont get it. What does GSW get out of making this deal?

They don't have to play David Lee.
Wallace Contract can be stretched and Lee's can't so. The only take a 3mill hit for the next 3 years and will; pay no tax as of right now.

Yeah so they're paying less money to have a better team.

Sweet. Here's hoping the Warriors have a great 2016.

Who said that Danny is done?  Lee is potentially the best PF on the team.  If he plays well, then that's great for the team.  If he doesn't, then he can sit on the bench like Wallace.  The bottom line is that we free up $15 mil in cap space at the end of the year.   Its not that complicated.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Pretty sure Sully's the next one to go.  I doubt they trade KO unless they can get something decent back.

Ty Lawson is a selfish bum. Please don't trade for that guy. Thank you Celtics for getting rid of Wallace. Nice addition; hope Lee's hungry to become an impact player again.

I really don't understand peoples obsession on this blog with Ty Lawson.  Him and IT are basically carbon copies of each other.  I've actually always liked Wilson Chandler though.  I haven't seen Faried play in awhile since he really exploded onto the scene...but isn't he grossly overpaid now?  I mean, considering the other contracts players are getting, and with the cap going up, maybe he's not quite as overpaid now.  But didn't it only take short amount of time for Denver to regret giving him that massive deal?
