I for one will be flipping back and forth until I determine what station will talk the Celtics more. The sound quality is a million times better on the Sports Hub.

I've been switching back and forth, and so far I think Felger and Mazzarotti blows away the Big Show.  Just much more substantive sports talk.

I haven't listened to, and don't plan to listen to Tanguay and Zolak, since I can't stand either of them...plus, Dale and Holly is by far the best thing on WEEI.

And the morning show is lame on both channels.  I got sick of Dennis and Callahan a long time ago, since they rarely actually talk about sports, and when they do, it is incredibly over the top, reactionary stuff that drives me nuts.  So I have listened to the new Sports Hub morning show, and was even less impressed.  Its basically a couple mediocre Rock DJ's acting like they care about sports.  I've basically given up on the sports talk in the morning, and listen to the Sand Box on WFNX instead.

Ultimately though, what this comes down to is there is now competition, and another station to turn to during commercials.  I don't think either station will blow the other away in the long run, and hopefully they will feed off each other, and keep getting better.

Oh yeah, and by far, the best part of this whole thing is WEEI changed its commercial format in order to keep listeners around, now that they have competition.  They have stopped running 15 minute commercial breaks a couple times an hour to 1-2 minute breaks every 10 minutes or so.  It has made it SOOOO much better to listen to, and was a genius move, since they would have really lost a ton of listeners if they hadn't done it now that they have competition.

Agreed.  Although Toucher and Rich kind of suck, it's better than listening to D&C.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Not sure, I hated the new commercial format on WEEI at first but now I kind of like it. It's nice to have two local sports stations again, when WEEI has no competition they feel a little too good about themselves. Having said that, I see WEEI crushing them in the long run.

As much as Felger can be a horse's rump at times and a blowhard, Mazz is excellent and it beats listening to a fraternity party called the big show

Just caught a few minutes on the way home.  The reception is ok, but the content is definitely much better.  I also like that I can now flip between stations during commercials  ;D.

I always listened to T&R when they were on WBCN, I don't like their show as much on WBZ, but I'll guess I'll have to manage.

I am a big T+R fan.  When I started listening to them on BCN, I thought they sucked too.  Especially Crash Clark.  But they grew on me in time...

I dunno if that will carry over now that they are doing Sports stuff, but who knows.  I can see why newcomers don't onboard quickly as they do a lot of regular skits/inside jokes.

But I don't think their show is that much worse on sportshub so far.  In fact, if I'm in the car, I listen to sportshub constantly (even the commercials).
God bless and good night!

Wait, somebody likes Mike Felger?

I think Felger is one of the top 3 sports radio guys in Boston (along with Dale and Holly).
