The opposition was so poor and the short preseason with sitting regulars the last two games.
I would have preferred playing better talent than winning by 20-50pts.
And then we play Philly. This 4-0 record was nice for confidence and team camaraderie but not so much character built by playing against stronger teams.
Can our rookies even contemplate going against Embid, Horford, Simmons ,Richardson. Harris.

The real question is can the 6ers contemplate going against Carsen Edwards?

Lots of teams played it that way. Even if the cupcake preseason didn't prepare them, a few weeks against real teams will.

On one hand I hate to go against what is likely the best team in the East, on the other, maybe it's better to catch Philly before they have time to mesh.

I think if the Celts had some idea they were great ( I’d sure hope not after last year) it will be wiped away in 1 thrashing from a contender whether that’s Philly in game 1 or not. I don’t think Philly bigs will run out of gas. Horford can take Tatum and use his wits and Tatum may make it easier on him anyways with his shot selection. They should be awesome defensively ( IMO).

You can only play the teams on schedule. The 3 blowouts enabled bench to show case. Won’t impact our preparation for Philly.

We played the same teams last preseason and went 1-3 as I recall.

We look so much better this year. So far.

I think preseason is more about getting reps playing together than who you're playing against, anyway.

We won't really know how good this team can be until the regular season starts.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Utah, Golden State, San Antonio, and Dallas are the 4 worst teams in the west in the preseason while New Orleans has the best record, Memphis is 3rd, and Sacramento is tied for 4th with the Lakers and Rockets.

In other words, the preseason doesn't mean or say a thing.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I get what rollie is saying. What is really the difference between playing the teams we played and playing the Red Claws 4 times?

At least in practice scrimmages they get a decent dose of live game action. These games, though, at least put them on an NBA floor in front of NBA crowds (kind-of). Hopefully the team was able to build some chemistry and learn rotations and such as they will need to be ready on opening night.
