One word for you: picksitting.

There's going to be at least one GM who's going to milk his allotted time for all its worth while he shops his pick.

Imposing strict deadlines for each pick is the only way, in my eyes, to ensure that the draft moves at a decent pace.

Secondly, I'm simply unwilling to devote my time at home during evenings or weekends to these draft proceedings.

Fair enough. Too bad to hear that the group can't self-regulate better than that, but I appreciate all of the time you dedicate to running this.

The time slots are fixed (as opposed to 10 minutes from the previous pick), is that correct? So I can pop in and out at predictable times?

We got to the 15th pick last year before an auto pick, but I admit I have a pretty dim view of humans. Between 19 of us someone would probably mess it up for everyone else.

Time slots are fixed, although the picks don't necessarily have to be ten minutes apart. I could pick 1 minute after the guy ahead of me if I were ready.

So far, the only person who's asked for a specific day is eja (on Monday). I'm not sure that's enough fair warning. Would a week from Monday (Sept 16) also potentially work?

I see your point about fair warning. I actually won't have another day off till the next Sunday the 15th. I'll have the morning of Sat the 15th off till about 11:30 when I have to go. I'll have the Friday night off.

I can probably try to sneak on at work.  Especially since my picks can be gotten out of the way.  I can probably do it this Tues as you wanted. I'll be in touch that day if that's what happens. Wednesday would work too. Thurs and Fri I'm screwed.

This is proof of concept that I can sneak in from work, so I'm good Mon-Wed and Sat morn if we start between 8-10:30. Otherwise I'm up a creek

I think that we're looking at a week from Monday. Monday, Sept 16.

I think this coming Monday is too short notice.

While I'm still here, let's announce more trades:

eja trades Jeff Teague, Ersan Ilyasova, and 2013 #12 pick
Make Me Some Bacon trades Greivis Vazquez, Chandler Parsons, and Make Me Some Bacon 2014 1st round pick

Another 2014 1st rounder used, but this seems on its face a pretty even deal to me.

sounds like a pretty even deal to me, hard to tell who will come out on the better end from this one.

Oi vey.  I'm good for Wed, Thurs, Fri that week.  I'll autodraft I guess unless it's in the evening. I agree this Monday is too short of notice, although between me, byennie, and Toines that's about 3 quarters of the first round accounted for

I think people are starting to see some value at the edge of my roster.

Oh gee. What if old Kobe gets hurt? I coulda had Wes J for very little.
Oh. What if Jimmer got traded to Miami?
Oh what if MCW is horrid in Philly? They may turn to Wroten.
Oh. What if Vince Carter gets hurt in Dallas? I'll wish I had Wayne Ellington.

These guys can be had pretty cheap for now. I already got a good bid I like on one guy.

Well, I'd settled on that Mon, since you'd indicated that you could make it that day, despite work. No one else really cares what day we do this.

So, I can put Friday, Sept 13 back on the table. My boss is out that day, so I should be assured of a slow work day. Might be better than the following Monday.

Another trade to announce:

Toine's Boys trade Amare Stoudemire
Rondo2287 trades Thomas Robinson

Classic "trading right now for the future" trade.

It seems like this league has plenty of trade action compared to the H2H league.
