So if the Celtics actually get rest like 2 days rest in between games consistently, then their record would be much better than currently indicated.

That dumb lineup with Smart on Lebron and Rozier on Korver allowed Korver to get going. Dumb decision by Brad with all of the evidence we have of that defensive scheme not working.

If only you were there to let Brad know. Boy then he might really be a decent coach.

Too bad.
Lol, guess because he's a professional he's not deserving of any criticism right? Give me a break

Implying you know more than he does, or would make better decisions humors me.

Every game people are questioning him.

If anyone of them actually sat down with him, and asked why do you do these things I think you shouldn't, they would leave going, wow, I was completely wrong.

But go ahead, and think you could coach a game better than Brad.

So pretty much what Gouki said? Gotcha.

Let fatalism reign - Brad is now beyond reprieve, everybody. He has successfully overcome human fallibility.

Funny.

For real, do you think, if you sat down with Brad, and said "I disagree with X, Y, and Z", do you think he would just say, "boy, you are right, what was I thinking" or would he say "I did that for reason A, B, C"?.

He makes the decisions he does for [dang] good reasons, and it is hilarious to me that so many people here think they could improve on what he brings and his decisions.

What's more hilarious is that you think coaches are infallible just because they coach in the NBA.  ;)

But, no, he would absolutely have his reasons for what he does; I just think he's wrong. Just because he has a reason that he does something doesn't mean that the reason is correct.

His preference to never call timeouts in late-game situations in favor of not letting the defense set is a perfect example of this. Sure, his reasons are logical, but they're absolutely wrong - in philosophical logic this is demonstrated as the difference between a valid argument and a sound argument. Brad's argument/gameplan is valid, but it's not sound. That particular gameplan has virtually never worked for us, and it's absolutely in contradiction with his elite (probably best in the NBA) skill of drawing up ATO plays.

I have never, ever said he is infallible. Ever.

But acting like he doesn't do the things he does (your gripe about his TO calling), for reasons that are far far better than your reasons for wanting him to do differently, is hilarious to me.

And I say that with a lot of respect, because I agree with you on most other things, and it is just you I have this particular grievance with.

Just don't get it.

I mean, you realize that you are pretty much saying this exact thing right here in the bolded parts, right?? lol

You're literally saying that Brad's reasons are always better than mine, which is pretty much the essence of infallibility!

OK, his reasons are better 97% of the time. There may be 3% of the time that your ideas are better, but that is essentially always, and even when incorrect, the incredible odds in his favor, mean saying you go with what he is doing is the obvious choice.

Would you do the same thing if Popovich were our coach?

Absolutely. I don't watch the Spurs enough to pinpoint anything particularly, but I'm sure he has his issues that can be improved, too.

Granted, I'm not really Pop's biggest fan; his curmudgeon shtick gets old.

Well... family took precedence over the game tonight.  My daughter's flight back to California was canceled due to the storm and we've been working on rearrangement plans....

And so -- I've missed what is looking like a phenomenal game so far from the boys in Green.

PLEASE -- give me game synopsis....  Have C's been up all game or just taking over?   Who has looked good tonight?
Our defence has been spectacular on everyone not named LeBron, and even with him we've been solid.
Love is shooting 1-11
Crowder is 0-5
Wade is 2-10
Green is 2-10

Our offence has been great too, as the shots have been really well spread across all our players. One of our better games
Thanks - TP!!
And Daniel Theis hit back to back threes, including a pump fake then step-back from the corner. Awesome stuff

Crowder with 2 points on 1/8 shooting, but does have 7 rebounds.

But w/him gone, more minutes for Brown and Tatum to capitalize  8)
