i thought rick adelman was the author of this wide-open, high powered offense...afterall, there were many here wanting doc fired and adelman named as his replacement.

Either the Rockets just came from a scrimmage with the Texans or they are trying to make this game into some kind of "toughness" statement. Either way it makes for a crappy game with these referees not having any kind of grip/feel on the happenings.

This is why I don worry about teams like that as C's competition for a championship. Playing basketball as a wrestling match is no way to win a championship. Heck, Rockets are always injured one would think they might get a clue and not put themselves into so much danger of getting injured in a meaningless pre season game. Can't stand Artest he is going to be a big detriment to that team not a help in the long run.

I don't know, Artest seems to have changed the offensive dynamic pretty significantly. TMac's penetration is way up, look at his FT #s, 9 shots at the stripe in 12 minutes

We'll see what happens when the games count. Right now it is pre season.

Sorry, I didn't respond to the rest of the post! You're probably right, does the rest of the league get more physical because the C's are the defending champs? I doubt, they were plenty physical last year at the outset (although this much during the preseason seems a little bit out of place). Houston will be particularly more irritating because Artest, though. I think this team will be serious challengers to the Southwest throne if this keeps up and Yao/TMac stay healthy.

I hope they have a backup plan because there is no chance they stay healthy for a full season.

Powe looks much improved in creating his own shot during pre-season. He looks ready to take another big step forward.

I'm liking Pruitt. He just played good defense on Brooks (?) and stole the ball for a wild fast break. House tried to throw an alley-oop to Darius but he just hit it back to Eddie. Then, Eddie scored.

Powe fights for a rebound after he missed a post up wild-looking hook, and then he wrestles it until the guy with the mask fouls him... and then he flops onto the ground. =/

quick update miles is showing alot of hustle got a nice rebound then a nice block followed by a nice hustle save to keep it in bounds. score 86-81 boston 4 minutes to go.
