In the 2017 draft what is the lowest pick you would take. For example. #8 if we could get Markkanen.

Would it be #5 if we could get Tatum.

Or would you take pick #22 if we could get TJ Leaf, Harry Giles, Or Bam

I'd rather see us go after a young prospect...even if we need to include others in the trade (except Fultz, Jaylen, 2018 BKN, 2018 Celtic's 1st). Taking a pick like #12 is not worth the risk.

Youre going to need to hitch your wagon on to IT, and then pay to keep him.  Other teams are not stupid.  They can read the situation too.

Since we already have it, I see no need to trade IT. Looking into my crystal ball (which I have named "Common Sense"), I can pretty much guarantee nobody in this draft outside of Fultz ever reaches 2nd team All-NBA.

Agreed, and I can't think of a better mentor for Fultz than IT.  The common question marks about Fultz -- intensity, effort, desire to win -- are the qualities that IT has in spades.

I'd need to be able to get back one of:

Ball
Jackson
Tatum
Fox
Isaac

So probably like 7 maybe 8

Call me crazy, but I have no interest in resigning him.  I'd rather trade him now (and create enough cap space to go after Hayward) than let him walk in a year's time.

imo

Best case scenario (kind of a pipe dream) : #7 (Wolves)
Most realistic scenario : #9 (Dallas)
Worst case scenario : Well, I don't really know... Let's say #17 (Milwaukee)

Guys...... we are already getting BRK's pick next year.

No pick that we could obtain for IT is worth losing IT for a year.

You all know we are 1 CLE injury away from possibly getting into the finals.  Why trade that chance for a pick in a draft where we already have plenty of picks?

Im sorry... but no pick is worth a year of IT and a chance to get to the NBA finals.

Also... No one who has a pick in the top 20 is going to trade it for IT.  It's pretty delusional to think otherwise IMO.

Top 12 sounds good to me. This draft is considered deep. Once past the talent at PG, there are some bigs that could take Kelly's spot.

None.  Why would we trade an established star for another pick?

I understand the trade IT thoughts even if I disagree with them, but if we are going to deal IT, give me a young player who has proved capable of contributing immediately and a potential all star.  Doubtful Indiana would do it, but something like IT for Myles Turner I would consider way before I'd consider someone who's never played in the league.

29 pts a game with great efficiency, a guy who creates his own shot and hits big shot after big shot - and is tough as nails.  Trading that and not getting equal value back is insane.

And equal value is anyone on the all NBA 1st and 2nd teams - not the hope/expectation that someone morphs into that because chances are they will fall short.

You're far better off constructing a team around him.  Take a look at the bottom 20 or so teams in the standings.  Most of them would kill for one player like IT.  They're not easy to acquire.  Giving one up once you're fortunate enough to get a player like that is something Billy King would do.

Good response to yet another "Let's give Thomas away" thread.

Sad!

If we are trading a player to get another lottery pick, it's Avery Bradley, not Isaiah Thomas, that will be on his way out...
