2nd team is very weird for me in this type of draft.
I reckon if we end up with 14-16 (we might be around this number at the moment, not sure) a second team wouldn't be necessary. But some folks might

I’m in, I think you may want to do the order by drawing out of a hat!

I'll play.  I think 16 teams would be perfect.

Thats 15 team.

And for draft order...it can be randomized.

But Silky should be number 1.

I'm not sure 1 is the best spot.  You don't pick again until 32 in a 16 team snake draft.  I haven't really thought about it all that much, but I do know at some point the difference in talent drop off becomes far more noticeable.  Might be better off somewhere in the middle where you still can at least theoretically get your guy and then still get a tier up on your next pick.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I would rather have #1, #32 and #33. At #1 you get MJ, or maybe someone grabs LeBron. Then at 32 and 33 you can still add players like Ewing, Nash, Drexler, McHale, etc., players that would fit with MJ or LeBron perfectly. If after pick 33 you have a trio of say Jordan, Nash, and McHale you are probably well on your way to winning the game.

I am, of course, assuming a snake draft throughout the game, not just 1st 2 rounds.

Yeah I get it, I just think there are some very clear tiers and I think the drop off to that 3rd tier with the Ewing, Nash type tier is a lot greater than the drop off from that 1st tier to the 2nd tier.  If you had say 8, 24, and 40 you might end up with a better trio than you get with 1, 32, and 33 as I'm not sure the drop off from 1 to 8 is as large as you think and you might get a significantly better player at 24 than 32.  Using ESPN's top 100 list the 8 group would be Duncan, Baylor, Hayes while the 1 group would be Jordan, Ewing, Mikan.  Baylor is a lot better than Ewing and I don't think Hayes is much worse than Mikan (obviously MJ is better than TD, but I don't think you are talking about a wide margin).  Obviously as you go down the list it becomes less and less important as you are going to find your right fits, but this might be one of those times where the first pick isn't the sweet spot (it might not be 8 either, I just used that as an example).

I think snake format throughout is best. Easiest.

But yeah. Some people always either reach for younger guys or dont know about some of the older generation players.

I have gotten some gems in late rounds.

About draft position, it's definitely an interesting question. I guess it comes down to how much you want to gamble on who you want to build around. For example, let's say you want a Hakeem or Kobe to be your first pick. Do you want to play it safe, and pick with the 8th or 9th pick? or do you go for a pick on the tail end of the first round to get a high pick in the next round, and risk those guys being off the table? Of course, this assumes you aren't just winging it.
