Melo here would be terrible. He is not content with coming off the bench. Don't do it Danny.

I know its almost two years old, but looks like Stevens was willing to coach Carmelo in the past.

Still think Carmelo is Laker bound.

I don't see a place for him here. He can't play defense, he's not a great passer, and I would much rather have Mook , Tatum, or Hayward out there instead of him.

This team has all it needs in personnel to win a Championship. Danny and Brad know this, it's just a matter of maturity from and chemistry between players already on the roster that would be the best benefit here. The only type of veteran has even a chance of coming here is one that is great for team chemistry and expects no minutes (think Perkins in Cleveland).

From a logical perspective, Melo will join a team that needs his scoring that can cover up his flaws like the teams involved in the Butler sweepstakes like the Sixers, Pelicans, or Heat. From an emotional perspective, he'll retire after getting thoroughly abused in the media and not wanting to deal with it anymore or joining a team where a friend or respected colleague really wants him to join his team.

Wade offered a big defense of carmelo online saying he was made to be a fall guy. Maybe he ends up in miami if he doesn't retire

he probably means korver. Good call.

Rather than Korver, Sixers should get JR Smith, a true Celtics enemy. The Sixers hate level would skyrocket.

If it meant giving Marcus and Marcus 3 more opportunities to rough up JR this season I'm all for it

Even more if we see them in the playoffs!

Only 4 more, considering the definite sweep ;)

I think it would be hilarious if the Rockets end up losing like 10 straight games and Melo goes somewhere and that team wins like 10 straight (assuming they aren't playing the C's of course).  That would be absolutely fantastic.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

In my mind Melo to Philly makes too much sense at the moment. And i feel I'm not hearing it anywhere.

Simmons/Redick/Butler/Melo/Embiid

Butler and Embidd cover enough defensive ground to just let Melo conserve his energy for mid range jumpers.
