Waiting on the "celtics should sign Melo" post

Nah that would be simply "warm" for what's supposed to be a hot take.

Now "Celtics should trade Hayward + pick for Melo" would be something...  :P
At least Melo has more than 3 years of All-Star level play! ;)

Melo simply isn't a good basketball anymore. He is a terrible defensive player and a below average offensive player given his lack of efficiency. He is a net negative. He cannot help anyone anymore. Houston is not the problem. Oklahoma is not the problem. Melo is the problem. He got old and he hasn't developed his game enough to handle his physical & athletic decline.

It is time to retire.
You are right on all counts.

But try telling that to the morons in the general public. The league marketed Melo early and often and brainwashed half the country into thinking he is way better than he actually is.

I made this mistake of looking at twitter comments on this story and 2/3s of the comments are in support of Melo. It is like some kind of sick cult.

He sucks and should be on either the Lakers or a D-league team (please, God, let him go to the Lakers).

I joked with a Lakers friend of mine that Melo may leave Houston and join Lebron and the Lakers.

He did not like that thought

I had the same experience. I have a Laker-lover friend who HATES Melo. I would be ecstatic if Melo lands there. It would be perfect.

Melo needs to retire. He lives in a dreamland where it's 2010 again.

I say Lakers or Warriors for Melo
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Melo always struck me as a very talented basketball player, he could def score the ball.

But to me he was never the type of player you wanted to build a team around, he always seemed to be bad for team chemistry for whatever reason (probably ego related). And he wasn't anywhere near LeBron level where he could make up for bad team chemistry all by himself.

Jalen Rose saying Melo should go to Philly. Give them some depth at forward.

Imagine if he landed in Golden State, he and Cousins would probably destroy them from the inside.
