prob about 55 if they stay healthy and the Boston boys remain effective.  KG was Boston's entire defense and Pierce was Boston's best offensive player... and now they have a vastly superior supporting cast.

I'd say they should be 6-10 games better than last year so that would be 55-59.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Low 50s.  When they're playing well, they will be very good.  I expect them to coast at times in the regular season, though.

I figure there will be some energy on the team to show they're a team to be reckoned with --> much like the 2008 and 2009 C's.  They may rest KG and PP later in the season to get them some rest going into the playoffs so they may lose a few games they wouldn't be expected to lose.

55-60 seems about right.

I'm going to go with the first thing that popped up in my head without over thinking it, and that was 58.

I'm going with low 50s.  KG will most likely sit back to back games which might be 10 to 20 I'm guessing.  You might see Pierce and Johnson regress a little more as they age. You might have an injury.  I think Lopez seems to have missed plenty of games over his career. Then IMO I think more teams in the East have improved than regressed.

idk....old guys are pretty notorious for mailing it in and then trying to turn it on for the playoffs

While this is true, this team also has some very talented younger guy.  I think you will see KG and Pierce sitting out plenty of games, and mailing some in.  But, those games the Nets still might cruise in, with Lopez, Kirilenko, Blatche, and Williams leading the way.

I said 55 wins, because I do think there will be some cruise control, and some injuries.  But I would not be the least surprised if they won over 60, particularly with so many tanking teams, particularly in the East.

Taking a look at how some somewhat recent teams did when adding a lot of talent, though not that I think anything is a great comparison to Brooklyn’s situation, but these are some teams that I think are somewhat comparable (already good teams with established alpha dogs adding good veterans and key role players, where talent coming in far exceeded talent going out, and you have championship expectations).

2012 Lakers finished with a full season equivalent of 51 wins, added Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, and Antawn Jameson and had 45 wins in 2013.  -6 wins.

2009 Cavs won 66 games, added Antawn Jameson and Shaq and won 61 games in 2010. -5 wins.

2005 Heat won 59 games, added Antoine Walker, Gary Payton, James Posey, Jason Williams, Derek Anderson, and Jason Kapono, then won 52 games in 2006 (but won the championship). -7 wins.

2003 Lakers finished with 50 wins, added Karl Malone and Gary Payton, and had 56 wins in 2004. +6 wins.

2000 Portland Trailblazers finished with 59 wins, added Shawn Kemp, Dale Davis, and Rod Strickland, and finished with 50 wins. -9 wins.

2000 Heat won 52 games, added Anthony Mason, Brian Grant, Eddie Jones, AC Green, Cedric Ceballos, and won 50 games in 2001 (though that was the year Alonzo Mourning missed most of the season with kidney issues, but made it back for the last part of the season and the playoffs). -2 wins.

1996 Rockets won 48 games, added Charles Barkley, Kevin Willis, and Eddie Johnson, and won 57 games in 1997. +9 wins.

1996 Knicks won 47 games, added Larry Johnson, Allan Houston, Chris Childs, and Buck Williams, and won 57 games in 1997, +10 wins.

-6, -5, -7, +6, -9, -2, +9, +10.  Most of the negatives are from teams that had won about 60 games or more.  Really hard to improve from that point though.  Biggest improvements are from teams that won only around 50 games (which is the Nets).  Not a lot of championship success though from this sample.  Though maybe I’m missing some teams, these are the ones I thought of (that were already good with an established alpha dog, adding a lot of talent).

Nets won 49 games last year, I see them winning somewhere in the 50-59 range.  55+ I’d say.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

How can we say and predict what is going to be their record when the regular season is dependent on being healthy, we lost out because Rondo missed a ton of games and Green was recovering from one year layoff post surgery, we struggled all season and limped to the playoffs.

I definitely do not see KG playing anymore than 60 games this season and the worst case scenario since he did not opt for offseason surgery of his bone spurs is he misses out the entire second half of the season.  PP was nursing aches and pains as well. My take is they become worst than expected and win around 45-50 games but if Deron misses a significant amount of time then they become worst and win around 40-44 giving us a better draft position in 2014  ;D

They won a number in the 50's last year.

This year they have  lost Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Keith Bogans and Marshon Brooks - not one of those guys was a key ingredient for the team and none of them really played significant minutes.

They have replaced these nobodies with the two borderline All-Stars.

Even WITHOUT KG and Pierce I don't see the Nets being much worse that last year (they'd probably have the same type of record) so worst case scenario if those guys miss games I don't think it matters much.  Long as they are on the court though this is possibly the best team in the league.
