Al Jefferson never produced on Rondo's level? Please take a look at his stats: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/al_jefferson/career_stats.html

Averaged a solid double-double for the past 5 seasons...

see rahim morris for my take om stats

my point is al jeff has never had the impact on the game the way rondo has

which one has been an all-star?

we'll just have to agree to disagree

Jefferson was the centerpiece of a trade that fetched KG, a player three years removed from an MVP - and who ended up finishing 3rd in MVP voting the year after we traded for him.

Rondo is not enough to get Chris Paul, who is right now a less impactful player than KG was when we got him. Paul's advantage is youth, but I think his injury history offsets that.

And while Rondo has two AS games under his belt, NOH by all accounts would trade Paul for two non-All-Stars (Curry and Gordon) before Rondo.

I think it's fair to say that Jefferson had comparable value then to Rondo's now.

We need to stay out of the Chris Paul trade rumor cess pool.

I think he (David Stern) should trade Chris Paul to Cleveland for Luke Harangody and the rights to Semih Erden in the best interests of the NBA. Make Dan Gilbert happy for a few months.

I don't know why Houston is crying so much, they can still get in on this. If Boston wants CP3 AND West, then go:

Bos: Gets Paul and West
Houston: Gets Okafor, O'Neal, and JJJ
New Orleans: Gets Martin, Scola, Rondo, Patterson, Flynn, 1st round picks from Boston.

It works perfectly on the trade Machine, except for West, he's not there. But you get it. Houston get's there man in the middle with Okafor and New Orleans gets the same pieces plus some

I also like the Indiana deal, they need and want a big too. Okafor fits

The Lakers wouldn't go back in for Chris Paul, would they?

Offer up Pau Gasol for Chris Paul? Then the trade exception for some dead salary (or D.West)?

Nah ... They're out of the Chris Paul business, right?

c'mon.... Lakers aren't just giving up Odom for nothing.  It's a precursor to freeing up enough cap room to steal Dwight Howard for pennies on the dollar.

i agree he did have value at the time, he did net us kg.  my point is it was misplaced value.

in al jeffs last trade he was traded for an exception.  basically he was given away for cap space.  that is some really low value right there

nothing happening right now makes a lick of sense.  What would the "hold up" be here... I thought they were simply waiting to finish the cp3 trade and once the CP3 thing was settled the west trade would be cleared...  how would indiana "swoop in"

Well they'd swoop in if we decide to dump on the D. West deal and try focusing again on CP3. They want Landry...maybe something can be worked out where they recieve:

Bos: Paul, West
Ind: Okafor, Landry S&T, Rondo
NO: Collison, Hansborough, Rush, O'Neal, JJJ, Posey, and a couple picks

Maybe?

The "hold up" is perhaps Stern toying with both of our teams dangling D West and hoping they can raise the value of him?

Honestly, the LA/HOU/NO trade was much better for NO. Much, much better.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Well I said earlier that Houston needs to get on the phone with Ainge and keep their end of the deal in play but instead of Gasol they get Okafor, O'Neal, and JJJ. In the 3 team trade with Indiana, Collison was apparently "better" than Rondo in N.O. eyes...

i think this would be more palletable for noh-

bos- paul, west
noh- hibbert, collison, jjj, o'neal and picks
ind-rondo, okafor, (moore or bradley)

I like it...but would IND being willing to part with Hibbert? And apparently the Clippers are a no go for Paul. Won't budge on giving New Oreans Eric Gordon or the 1st round unprotected Minnesota pick. We could be the front runners right now. Plus Golden State offered Deandre Jordan
