Are we losing anything with a PG combination of Kemba/Rozier/Smart/Hayward

Lamb is avg 13 ppg and is a good defender. Bridges is an athletic freak, built strong, good defender. Suspect shooter.

A future first puts this trade over the top for the Celtics. And besides money and marketing. Ainge would make this trade imo.

For almost every trade, whoever gets the best player wins the trade.

We don't need to accumulate more assets, especially because Irving has verbally committed long-term.

I’m not sure that Lamb, Bridges and a first round pick are any better than our current rotation players.

I also see no possible scenario in which Charlotte does this. The only reason to deal Kemba is if you think you’ll lose him for nothing in the offseason. Trading him and a pile of assets for a different player who is *more* likely to be lost for nothing in the offseason is downright absurd.

I do it but no way Charlotte would for a rental player
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I would do it if we would then turn some of the pieces coming back as well as our own players/picks into AD. And I am willing to give up a LOT to get him. As all of us already know, we can't acquire him with Kyrie on the roster.

And, no, I don't think Kemba is that much of a downgrade from Kyrie.

I like the way Kemba Walker would fit in this team. Not that I like Kemba any more than I liked IT or Kyrie. All similar types of player. All score first PG lacking in non-scoring contributions. I do kinda like Kemba's attitude over Kyrie's though - the aggressiveness, confidence, consistency in approach. Unlike Kyrie who goes up and down in terms of assertiveness. I do wonder if that would suit the team better.

I do not see what Lamb or Bridges would offer. The Celtics do not really need more depth. The team already has the best bench in the league and has difficulty finding enough minutes for our top bench players as it is.

How much better is Kyrie than Kemba Walker at this point?
Why is Kyrie better than Kemba?

Kemba has improved a lot over the last few years with his outside shooting. 22ppg over last 3 years. 39% from 3. 5.5apg. Smaller defensively than Kyrie but more feisty defensively. Neither guy helps you on the boards. Both scoring PGs with middling playmaking.

I think we’d miss Kyrie’s ability at the rim. We don’t have much in the way of reliable finishers at the basket, and Kyrie is strong there, whereas Kemba is pretty awful. With Horford, Hayward and a rapidly improving Tatum providing solid playmaking ability, I’ll take what Kyrie brings over Kemba.

I would buy into this.  If there was a way to acquire Kemba *and* Davis, and Kyrie had to leave, I wouldn't shed any tears.

As presented, we probably "win" the deal on a purely talent basis.  However, there are chemistry issues, as well as the unknown contract situation.

Let’s still not lose sight of how little sense this would make for Charlotte. That doesn’t seem like it can be overstated. They’d be *at best* modestly improving their PG spot this year to be in the same exact same FA situation, if not worse. They’d also be mortgaging the future to do so, and making their overall roster worse this year.

No.

I'd be interested in Kemba if Kyrie left us in free agency, but he already said he plans on re-signing here.
