I'm for running the auction as if tomorrow and sunday were weekdays. It would help to make sure everyone wraps up their rosters in time for the regular season.

I'm also in favor of this.

I am quite happy to run the auction over the weekend, but I think for people who are working it could be a distinct disadvantage

I'm ok with it running on the weekend. It's less of a disadvantage to those east coast people who don't stay up to midnight during the week. I know I've missed on plenty of bids for that reason.

I'll leave it up to the commish what route we take, but we gotta do something - if we go a hard deadline, maybe close the auctions on the board at 9 PM and then give people a few hours to post enough FAs to fill whatever spots remain?  There'll be a few either way.

What I want to know is who had Teague last year and what was his salary then?  Dragic too.  Those guys had to be on bargain salaries compared to their salaries now I imagine.

I had Kevin Martin at 17, after I originally extended him from 12 last year (I think).  I decided to drop him rather than extend again, but maybe he was more valuable than I thought?

I had Dragic for 6 last season before I cut him during the finals. He would have cost 11 this season.

Btw, I am very happy that I won last season, but it probably cost me a title this season and maybe next. I had so much cheap talent, but all of those injuries/benching during the two week finals were truly awful.

Player that I cut & their salaries this season:

Dragic: 11
Larry Sanders: 1
Pek: 14
Vasquez: 13

With all those cheap players, I could have kept LBJ at 90 this season.

Had the finals been one week earlier, I would have won with all of my players still on my roster.

Oh well, at least I have my championship trophy to catch my crocodile tears.  :'(

Yeah, a lot of bad salaries get dropped every year, so there's lots of money chasing the most talented guys each auction.  This leads to lots of overpays, which leads to the overpaid guys getting dropped the next year, and the cycle kinda repeats.

Hard to get a good bargain on established players in the auction, you've gotta look for the up and comers.  Like Patrick Beverley (fingers crossed).

Haha, yeah there are usually a few good bargains, but they're almost always in the first few days.  David West went super-cheaply too, so did a few other guys.  Actually 16 for Thad Young is pretty solid too.  Maybe we're just overpaying for PGs.

I had Teague for 39 or something.  He was one of those last day bid players where I had nothing to lose.  Kinda like how Teague is doing again this year.
