Yea I also get frustrated with this game at the end of the year.  But this happens every year.  People get injured and there are 1,2,3 really really good picks that are the same players due to this.  Last year it was Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton when Chris Paul was injured.  Everyone raced to pick either of them.

I picked up probably picked up 95% of my wins while making the pick at 6am when I get to work.  I must say I do better when there isn't a clear consensus on who the top picks are going to be.

Unfortunately though, that is the nature of the game.  And someone always has to pick first.  Nothing you can do to get around that.

So just to this out there... I didn't take the time to read all the posts but there seems to be quite a bit of controversy and disagreement. I really don't see why. Just seems like a very small game to get upset over. I only play this game for some extra TP's haha.

Become Legendary.

Lordy. I just went and read through all of that.

I guess I agree with Matt that you should pick for yourself, but I don't really have a problem with it either.  Mostly I just prefer to pick for myself and not worry so much about how everyone else handles it.  I just would rather pick for myself or not at all.

As for the midnight picks, I'm rarely around and don't care enough to clock watch for the stroke of midnight when I am awake.  The only safeguard we've added was the duplicate pick rule for winners.  I can't think of a reasonable alternative that would not be overly complicated (the main idea of this game is to keep it simple). There needs to be a start time for picks, and no matter where we put it, this will be an issue.

So, yehhh...Go SPLITTER!

I don't know where the midnight picks thing came from. I don't have a problem with midnight picks. My only issue was people picking for other people on a nightly basis... the fact that that person takes up the best 2 picks at the stroke of midnight makes the game less competitive and less fun. Of course my rant made the game less fun as well and I apologize to everybody for that. I brought it up in a terrible way and I should have just waited for the end of the season.

When we made the duplicate picks rule we all agreed on it and I don't remember a lot of arguing... at least not to this extent. I was hoping to solve this issue the same way but like I said, I was already in a bad mood so my post probably came off as a lot more angry than it was supposed to.

Yeh, didn't say it was coming from you, just that it was in the 3 pages I just sifted through.  I don't think there's anything wrong with suggesting a new rule, especially if it improves the game and isn't a royal pain in the butt to enforce or keep track of.

I feel like I'm at a disadvantage as well because I don't even know what these "good" picks are that you guys are talking about   :-\

If everybody just picked Celtics like me there'd be no problem because none of them ever score much over their average (but then everyone would suck like me too).  Can we make that a rule? :P
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

My "keep picking Troy Murphy until he scores a hoop" philosophy seems as good as any.
