We need a JaVale McGee or Dwight Howard type player on this team or on the bench. A big who can also hold off Embiid, Davis, Jokic and those guys.

I would expect Brad to be active at the deadline - it would be news if he wasn’t.  No question he’ll be looking for a big.

I’m curious what people think about Joe’s recent use of Dalano  Banton.  He’s been off the bench before Pritchard and it seems Joe likes what he gives them.  I’m not sure about him - definitely has good energy and is active defensively and on the boards. Great size for a pg but I haven’t seen evidence of passing skills/court vision.  And he had no a difficult time putting the ball in the hoop.

If Banton could finish at the rim he'd be fantastic. He can get anywhere he wants to on the floor and has good size and energy.

Who are those players nowadays, though (it's probably not McGee or Dwight)?
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

I'm all on board with this. The big needs to be a vet. The team is favored to win it all, you need players with playoff experience.

Banton has been playing, but the other guys are end-of-bench pieces for a reason

Jeez, people have really worked themselves up to thinking Kornet is worse than he is. He's replacement level, but some of you guys have convinced yourselves that he's the worst player in the world. He isn't even the worst player on the team.
I'm bitter.

They need a stretch 4. And someone that can staple Kornet to the bench.

He comes in and teams automatically go right at him with great success.

He's still only 24. He seems like a keeper as a bench guy.

  • takes.....MAKES!!!!
Not only has Banton been getting some consistent minutes of late, he seems to be on the court with 2 other guards.  I think with his size, wing span and hustle he is getting minutes that maybe where originally earmarked for Brissett.  He is trying to prove that he can do what Brissett and Stevens can do on the defensive end and is an upgrade on the offensive end.  I think with more playing time he can get more consistency with his drives to the rim, and if he can do that, he may actually be playable in the playoffs.

Okay, but is he REALLY? Because just looking at their numbers from this year side by side I think you can make a real argument for Kornet.
