MattG12 - Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets: 9.6
Bahku - LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers: 29.8
Gainesville Celtic - Jameer Nelson, Magics: 11.6
truck lewis - boobie gibson, cavs: 6.9
Redz - Manu Ginobili, Spurs: 13.3
Edgar-Chauncey, Chickenwings,:
RebusRankin-Melo, Denver, a lot

If I'm not too late.

I'll count it as long as everybody else is okay with it... 6 players is terrible.

Clock, what clock?

Yeh, we can't be disallowing picks 3 minutes past the deadline with 6 players!

Six?! Terrible!

I even ran the "ad" today.

Maybe we need a door to door campaign.

That might freak people out and make them want to leave CelticsBlog entirely.

PAPOUG's Witnesses?

I think people see the "Ad" thread and don't even go to it cuz they've seen it for so long. The best idea would be to start placing ads in the game threads ... those seem to get the highest traffic, and people wouldn't ignore it there ... just an idea. ;)

I don't know.  I checked on the Ad thread a couple of times today while it was still on the LFT board, and there were some new names in there.  Whether they actually read it or nor, I don't know.

No harm in dropping it in the game thread here and there, but I wouldn't want it to become obnoxious.

I was not intimating that it should be obnoxious, as it's off-topic anyway ... just once in-a-while. It was only a suggestion ... no big deal.

Nor was I intimating that you were intimating that, just saying it would be probably not be a good idea for us to overdo it (myself included - and probably foremost)

I was thinking of more devious tactics in the game threads, for example:

"Wow ... the Celtics are on fire tonight! This is a great game ... speaking of great games ... "

 ... or even:

"Hey, did you see KG set a pick on that player? Hey, speaking of picking players ... "

Bass all you need to do is find a player who is playing that night, and type their name and points average.  If a guy averages 10 points a game and he scores 15, you get a +5 score for the night.  all there is to it really.

You just pick a player that has a game that night, like say Brian Scalabrine, and look up his Point-Per-Game average here:

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/scoring-per-game/sort/avgPoints/year/2010/seasontype/2

or here:

http://www.nba.com/players/index.html

... and however many points they score OVER that average is your score.

Say Scal's average is 2.2, if he scores 12 that night, then your score is the difference, or +9.8. Hope that makes it clearer. ;)

If you were to pick Scal's you would just add your name tothe list of that days picks (make sure the C's are playing)

Like this:

BASSTHUMPER - Scals, Celtics: 1.6

The beauty of Scal is that if he hits a 3 you're already over his average.  Of course there's also a really good chance he doesn;t play at all, but such are the risks.

The person with the highest over the average wins.

You would get a score of +5. and if no one else gets higher than +5 you would win...But if you're talking about Lebron, the # is a bit higher.

Yeah ... exactly, lol! My opening line would be more like:

"Man, looks like the Celts didn't show up to play tonight ... speaking of DNP's ... "  ;)
