Embid aimed an elbow at Smarts head, so we got to see a 280 lb guy do a header and Marcus pays 50,000.
It was worth it to watch Marcus stand up against Embid.
.A lesson learned now is invaluable,if it had been an unimportant game and we had won the necessary meaning might get lost-"we need Marcus" in control. Not making a nice steal and racing up to jack up a deep three into an ugly backboard ricochet.
Or just throwing up a left handed layup with spin off the backboard without any soft touch. He had made one in  previous game high off backboard that was masterful. This one wasn't

I also think it was worth it in the long run, for his reputation.
We don't want teams around the league thinking they can screen him.

What it showed is that he is by far our best defender. He held reddick in check. After brown took over his job, reddick killed us, and the sixers gained momentum.

If this had happened during a playoff game and it cost us, or if it happened to cost us home court advantage by missing out on the No4 seed, nobody would be saying it was worth it. I love Marcus and we love passion but we want controlled aggression from him. If you want to show aggression you can hard foul Embiid when he's trying to make a basket. Or do a similar hard screen on him. Or if you really want to be a tough guy you can call Embiid out after the game to fight behind the bleachers like we all used to do in high school.

Holy distortions.  You must be in a different reality where a chicken wing to the rib cage equates to an aimed blow to the head.  Unless you're saying that Smart had his head so far up his orifice that it was at ribcage level.  Plain and simple Smart is a hot headed dolt who can be prodded into making brain-dead decisions.

The way I saw it, Embiid flopped himself onto the ground to sell it. Then he gets up nice and slow and then remembers he's on TV so he pretends he's real mad and plays the "hold me back" game.

The look on Smart's face says it all.

Embiid is a punk. Smart called him out for cheap shot. May have cost us the game, but I doubt Embiid throws that elbow again. At least against Smart.

I'd say Smart is the flop master but Ilyasova is still in the league.  Embiid did sell it which is what he should have done.  If not, the refs may have just called one of those stupid double techs.  Embiid wasn't going to get himself stupidly thrown out of the game like Smart did.

He should've taken a shot at Smart. Hell, he got away with a blatant offensive foul on that screen with no call.

Short of taking a chair or weapon out, Embiid could have retaliated any way he wanted to, without getting ejected the way the refs called that game  ( Yeah, YeahI know, I'm exaggerating...haha) .

We will handle this team in 5-6 games in the playoffs right after they take the Raps out for us.
