Does anyone else remember when we wanted to trade bad players for good players, instead of trading good players for bad players?
Can we go back to that? The only thing worse than someone that doesn't understand why we can't trade 2 quarters for a dollar is someone who doesn't understand why we shouldn't do the opposite.
You're not wrong, but there are people who would be happy just to get out from Hayward's mammoth contract. Muscala and Chandler are expiring, so we would really just be taking on Fultz's $9.7M next season in an attempt to recharge his value. While this isn't promising, look at what Embiid brought to the table in his first two years in the league. Bad comparison, I know, but just trying to look at this deal as not just a straight salary dump.
There isn't really any advantage to dropping that salary, though. Kyrie's new contract, along with Horford opting in and jumps in salary for other players is going to keep us above the cap, trading Hayward for
Anthony Bennett 2.0 Markelle Fultz isn't going to change that
Well, it would help if we wanted to re-sign Rozier for big money, but I don't think ANYONE here wants that right now
