Denmark will play Hungary away (a) tonight
at 19:45 CET. The Danish team is in need
of a good start since missing both the
2006 WC and Euro 08.

England plays Andorra (a) and should get
three points easily from that match.
Spain plays Bosnia-Herzegovina at home (h).
USA faces Cuba (a) in what should be a very
interesting match.
Canada square off with Honduras (h).
El Salvador meets Haiti (h).
Feel free to add more teams/games.

Below is the a good link for those who
want to follow the games at close hand.

Despite being a die hard football fan, qualifying really annoys me. I hate it. I just don't have the same passion for it as I do for watching my team play. Plus, Ireland rarely get anywhere. When it comes to the World Cup or European Championships though, I zone in and during those 3/4 weeks nothing else matters (apart from this year when the Finals and Euro's coincided).

Tonight my dear Chile plays at home against Brazil.

Lets hope for the best, and let us all pray together lol.

But seriously, we do have a chance to do OK against them. All though I'm obviously quite concerned of only having 3 defenders to try and stop Ronaldinho and Robinho, I like our coach's attitude, he always goes to the front, he does not back down against anyone. The way to beat Brazil is by attacking them, that way, the have to do what the hate to do and what they are worst at, that is, to defend. If you give them the ball, your team is done.

VAMOS CHILE!

 ;D

Congrats, Edgar.
Must have been great to be there  :)

Denmark played 0-0 against Hungary
in what I must admit was the most
boring game I can remember. Maybe ever.
Well, we got one point, which is okay.
Portugal is up next...  :-\

The European qualifiers were pretty interesting.
Romania was crushed at home by Lithuania (!!!) and Austria (!!) won easily France 3-1

Italy was lucky to win in Cyprus. It was the only game i watched and i was impressed by Cyprus. Italy won with a late (but wonderfull) goal by DiNatale 2-1 but Buffon was very very lucky a few mins earlier and didn`t concede a goal. Cyprus won`t go far but the last years gives big troubles to every team visiting.

England looks like no masked profanyty please.. again....

Spain only won by 1-0 but they played really well (they could have scored 4-5 goals). Really sorry about Chile, I thought they would have chances against an average Brasil

England looks like #@$#!$ again....

As per usual. Overrated.

Germany and Portugal looked the best after the first round of games. Early days yet. France looked predictably woeful.

Being a Chelsea fan though, it's good to see Joe Cole bringing his game.

Maybe you are right and England is overated. I`m a little biased so i can`t be a fair judge of this. But i think we all agree thet there are 4-5 world class players that should be enough to beat easily teams like andora or skopje. Teams with much less manage to present better teams at least regarding the quality of their game if not results also.

Yes we play again tonight, this time against Colombia. We need the win badly, it's a home game too and both teams are currently tied in points so that makes it a must win.

Worst thing is that Paraguay is red hot right now, they are at the top of the rankings ahead of Brazil and Argentina. That's not good for our chances. Only four teams make it to the WC and the fifth fights the last spot with a team from Concacaf. Brazil and Argentina no matter what they always qualify so that leaves only two 'direct' spots. Right now Paraguay has the lead to take the first. Uruguay and Colombia are always tough and recently Ecuador has been the team to take one of the 4 spots on the last two WCs!

Believe!

Here http://www.emol.com/deportes/especiales/clasificatorias_sudafrica_2010/tablas.asp# is the rank if anyone wants to check it out. Its from a Chilean site  ;)
