What did people think about Ben Simmons?
Good defensive/transition player who is a liability in the half court if he isn't playing as the "big"

I think he could be really special, I don't think he can reach his full potential with Embiid on the same team. Still Embiid is so talented it might still be enough to win a title.

^this. His package of defence and passing is really eye-popping when you factor in his ability to be a one man wrecking crew in transition.

Theis just can't defend Embiid. He never has been able to, he never will. We really missed Robert Williams last night. He could have given Embiid some trouble while Kanter rested.

Williams can't defend Embid either.  Yes he can jump and block shots, but Embid will always be 2 steps ahead of him because he's such an intelligent player.  No one in the league can guard Embid all that effectively when he's on - save for the guy who left here to sign with Philly - Average Al.

All you can hope for against him is that your guys make him work a bit and contribute a few points and I thought Theis & Kanter more than held their own last night. Embid wasn't the reason the Celtics lost.

Not a fan.

He has no reliable jump shot.

My only consolation is that watching Embiid and Philly size can help but think what would they do to the lakers if they meet in the finals.
He’s abused Davis in the past and LeBron is not enough to counter  the rest of. Philly forwards / centers

I think we can all pump the brakes on the comparisons to Kawhi and Paul George....
Yes, yes and yes! One game determines players whole career and more often than not, it is the very last game guy played.

Kawhi aged 23: game vs Memphis: 31 min, 6 pts (3-10 fg), 6 reb, 3 as
season averages: 64 gm, 31,8 mins, 16,5 pts, 7,2 reb, 2,5 as, splits .479, .349, .802

George aged 23: game vs Charlotte: 34 min, 2 pts (0-9 fg), 7 reb, 1 as
season averages: 80 gm, 36,2 mins, 21,7 pts, 6,8 reb, 3,5 as, splits .424, .364, .884

Brown aged 23: game vs Philly: 41 min, 8 pts (3-9), 5 reb, 2 as
season averages: 21 gm, 33,8 mins, 19,3 pts, 6,9 reb, 2,2 as, splits .500, .374, .734

Lol. Fair enough. I should have been clearer. What I meant (but could have said better) is that after their great success a couple games ago people were overstating things - as though they're close to being peak Kawhi and George *right now*. They aren't.

0-2 against the sixers and they didn’t even have Horford tonight. I don’t see how we beat them in a 7 game series with our current roster, unless Kemba Walker has another gear (but I doubt it).

No one can guard Embiid but I thought Kanter did a great job. Similarly, Tatum or Brown need to start asserting themselves more. They both looked off but I credit the sixers defense for that

Why don't we give credit to 76ers defense? Simmons, Thybuille and Richardson completely shut down our wings.

Time to admit that Danny lost the draft day trade with Elton Brand.

Sixers were +21 with Embiid on court for 36 minutes.  -15 with O'Quinn on court for 12 minutes.

Really? Already say we 100% lost a trade in less than a year? For someone who likes to flaunt this enlightened centralist, high and mighty attitude, this seems like a bad take.

I’m fairly bad at understanding the nba ins and outs. I’m good with numbers ... I’m not sure how I am more enlightened than others. I try to not get too excited about our young players .. could be “subconscious hedging “ Against being wrong

The NBA thought so too, but too late....
