Three of my students I have this summer have played the last couple years against Lester Hudson.  Though none of this is probably new, I thought it would be good for everyone to hear.

1.  He's not a point guard.  They said he didn't have the mentality of a one, nor did he play that way in the games.
2.  They said he was a scorer.  One of the guys who guarded him said Hudson could score as soon as he entered the arena.
3. They said he's 5'10" tops, but that he played taller (it was said with a grin).
4. They said he was an incredible athlete (strong, lots of hops, fearless).
5. When I clarified the comment about him being a scorer, I asked if he could shoot, and all three of them chimed in with yes. I asked if he was like Eddie House, and they said that he was a 'shorter' version of House.
6. Lastly, they said if the Cs were drafting him to play the one that he wouldn't make the team.  They saw him playing the off guard position, and as someone who would bring a ton of energy (both ends of the floor).

Well, if he really is that short, he's not playing SG.

Yeah, that's the problem.  I can't think of too many 5'10" shooting guards who have been successful in the NBA.  Thus, why he slipped to #58.  If he was 6'3", he's probably considered at the end of the first round / early second.

If he's that short, he better get the mentality of a PG.

Seems like the type of player you need to match in the backcourt with a tall point guard.

He measured out at 5'11.75" barefoot - exactly the same as Eddie House. But he also has a crazy 6'8.75" wingspan compared to 6'3.5" for House.

Dee Brown also played the 2 for the Celtics and he was shorter than me when I met him and I'm 6'1"

I was just about to point this out.  He was 6'1" in shoes.  He apparently went to the combine in 2008 before withdrawing from the draft.

Hudson's starting to sound like a poor man's Tony Delk, good shooter, good all-around game but with those WINGS of his that helped him play bigger than his height.  We'll see; the more I hear about this guy, the more intrigued I am.

I like the "fearless" part - that alone may be enough to beat out Gabe...
