Javonte Green pretty much dropped the ball tonight

A passed popped out of his hands from the Grant Williams pass

The inbound pass mess up

But the blame for that can also fall on Morrison giving him that responsibility

Well, that was by far the worst performance I've seen by the Celtics  in the summer league, especially by the coaches.
Did they want to win this game? It didn't look that way.

I watched the first half--yuck. They started mostly the bench reserves. No Edwards. No Robert or Tacko. Bombs away 3 pointers--with nobody near the basket. Even the commentators remarked about that. That's the recipe for a Celtics loss, as we have seen during the season. It's contagious in the summer league.  Shooting poorly. No penetration for easy shots. When Tacko gets into the game, not a single pass to him inside. Everybody shooting outside on their own.

I picked the game up the last 8 minutes or so. That no.63 center "O" played the entire last 8 minutes! He got killed on the boards. No Tacko or Robert (oh yeah, Robert came in with 20 seconds left). I don't know who won, but they had every opportunity to win the last couple minutes, mainly due to Edwards.

Where was Tacko? Where was Robert? They got killed on the boards at the end.

It was a terrible coaching job, and you have to wonder about Tacko's future with this team.

You live by the 3, you die by the 3.

i see your point but see it differently. lets see how green et al perform with a game on the line. and we did see that. we already know about TL. and who cares in the front office if the celtics win in summer league? they prefer to learn about the players.

Disappointing finish but honestly I think these guys are anxious to get home and are somewhat indifferent to winning. Especially the coaches.

Scott Morrison trying to throw the game?? Without Tacko, we came up short?

Scott Morrison's was Memphis and I am not taking about him not playing Tacko.    THIS LOSS IS ON HIM and I hope he never becomes a head coach for us.  We played to loose and did not play Timelord after he dominated so we would lose..

Waters tried to play hero ball and killed our momentum.

Edwards was great, and should have been taking the shots that Waters bungled in the last minute.

Every year, we play great and lose in the tournaments because the coaches want to go home or want the guys back in Boston to work in their games.

Grant Williams is just too short to be a full-time PF in the NBA.

I think CBS fell in love with this guy because he was an effort guy.   I think he will get blocked a lot but he does seem to make winning plays.  I would rather have Mfiondu Kabengele than Williams but I value bigs.  Stevens does not seem to be to use bigs when he has them unless they are stretch guys and Ainge and him are to commited for small ball.

If Grant Williams comes close to being like PJ Tucker then that's good enough.

Carsen Edwards is a baller

He was clutch last season ...especially in the ncaa tourney

Clutch in the SL.  Money tonight.  Consistently clutch

Among the 4 rookies drafted this year, Carsen will be the only one who'll get significant playing time in the regular season.

Great point that people here need to keep in mind.

We're Celtics fans.  We only care about our draft picks.  But guys like Green and Onuaku are out there fighting for their basketball lives, and summer league is about them, too.  In fact, it's more important to them than it is to guys like Grant and Robert Williams, who have guaranteed contracts and are really just out there getting a few reps in the offseason.

It's frustrating to not see our guys on the court when the game is on the line, but we already know about them.

I think Williams will also get some time but Carsen is looking the most NBA ready.

Carson was the only one who looked like he belonged on NBA roster today for Celtics.

Robert Williams had a few decent moments, but added nothing on the offensive end.

Tre Waters was off, but we should cut him slack.

Grant Williams look small today.

Tacko looked passive. Did not rebound well.

Memphis put a good defensive game plan in, and was incredible from 3 point range.  They outplayed us.

Typical Celtic bb with NO bigs down the stretch and we get killed on the boards and lose a game we should have won.  So tired of small ball!

Grant will be fine.  I'm not going to weigh one bad game as more important than the four good ones.  They all matter, and he looked like an NBA player overall.
