1) KD negotiates a deal that gets him what he wants (a supermax and Kyrie) and Golden State plays along because we exchange Hayward in return.

2) http://tradenba.com/trades/BkP4_LtyB

3) Kyrie re-signs as part of the deals above (i.e., Kyrie and KD insist on the entire team being wiped clean save for Smart).

4) Kyrie rules the roost in 2019-2020 with him and Smart helping Zion overcome his rookie growing pains while KD rehabilitates.

5) A healthy KD returns to form. KD, Kyrie, Zion and Smart, with ring-chasing vets as our bench, lead us to a championship in 2020-2021. The end result of the 2013-2018 asset-building exercise.

New path to KD, Kyrie and another superstar:

2) Hayward for Durant on a supermax

3) Kyrie re-signs

Kyrie
Smart
Durant in 2020
KAT
MLE / Maybe Williams / Maybe Memphis 2020

Sorry, but how on earth did we just magically get KAT? This is not 2K

The same way we got KG: He wants out. We’re willing to outbid anybody with two solid assets in Tatum, Brown and additional picks (Memphis, Bucks pick and our own 2020 pick) if necessary.
But he hasn't actually requested a trade. Minny will probably ask for far too much draft compensation after seeing what AD got in return, considering a) KAT is so young, b) he is very health and c) he's locked up for the long-term.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)

SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Agreed, but I personally think this is superior to what the Lakers gave up for AD:

Tatum
Brown
Ojeleye
Yabusele
2020 Memphis pick
2020 Milwaukee pick
2020 Boston pick (probably pick 15-20 with KD rehabbing)
2022 Boston pick

You have to think KAT wants off that train wreck as badly as AD wanted out of New Orleans. He’s just classier about it...if he found out he would be part of the superteam to stop the Lakers? Of course he would be stoked to team up with KD and Kyrie.

I dunno.. maybe, I guess it depends how you look at it.

Tatum > Ingram
Brown > Ball
Ojeleye < Hart
Yabu << #4
Our pick package < their pick package
