I say give NYK Fan a break.  He is a NYK Fan after all.  He posted some thoughtful albeit unlikely sign and trade scenarios.  Isn't that what this whole blog is for?  I am curious to understand options, particularly as relate to Kyrie, where we can salvage something for him if he decides to leave.  It is not the type of trade that you can win.  You are just trying to get something out of a bad situation.

You need to be careful not to make things worse though by taking back a bad contract like Chris Paul.  I am sure Celtics management is looking at all scenarios.

Big difference between NYK fan and NKY.
One suggests I like the knicks lol
the other is the acronym for northern Kentucky.

My bad, thanks for clarifying.

Note - S&T rarely happens nowadays but the following might work for all parties :
- S&T Rozier 3 yr $33M to pacers for McDermott plus 2020 lottery protected pick
- S&T Irving to Nets for Crabbe and 2020 unprotected 1st rd pick
- S&T Morris 3 yr $39M and Horford 3 yr $75M to Houston for Chris Paul plus 2023 unprotected first round pick

Rozier transaction seems the most realistic as it will allow Indy to resign their other free agents and also sign a guard they are targeting. Ainge gets a a future salary filler (occasional role player too) plus an asset to use for a mid season trade.

Irving transaction is unlikely but if the nets are set on clearing space anyway and Irving is signing with them for sure ... why not get a $18.5 M expiring contract and temporary backup shooting guard. The pick will also help our future pursuits of stars

The Houston deal is unlikely but it’s posdible that this is the best situation for Morris and Horford and Morey is set on moving Paul contract ... 2023 rockets draft pick can be considered golden in 2022..
Celtics lineup :
Paul / Smart / draft pick
Brown / Crabbe / McDermott
Hayward / Semi / draft pick
Tatum / MLE / yabu
Baynes / time lord / Draft pick

Looks like a 5 -7 seed with a potential to scoop whoever is on the trade market mid season:

Beal , griffin , Jrue Holiday ... vucevic if his team is struggling.

TP to NYK fan for "free agent season madness."

Those trades would be put into a book "The Use of Sign and Trade" by Danny Ainge.

Where you got Horford Morris double sign and trade to Rox for Chrissie I don't know, but I do know espn would give you a job writing "speculation" headlines. That sir, is some good stuff.

Since the summer of 2015 there have been only 4 sign and trade deals in the entire league. Kyle O'Quinn in 2015. Matthew Dellavedova and Troy Daniels in 2016. Danilo Gallinari in July 2017. Since the new CBA was ratified in late 2016, Gallo is the only player to be signed and traded under the current rules...that was two years ago.
Can we declare the sign and trade back now?
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip
