Vintage Kemba tonight

Yes! Looks like a totally different player from the guy we saw in February.

Smart, stop shooting 3’s. You’re not a good 3pt shooter. Get some assists, you play the Point. Yeesh.

Then you are guarding and player rips up through your arm initiating all contact - how is that a foul on guy with arm there first not moving it?  Such a bogus call!

Hate that call. If they had that back when Bird played he goes to the line 20-25 times a game.

The whole team looks better but Kemba does look revived!

If I were a Phoenix fan, Ayton would frustrate the hell out of me.  Dude has star-level talent and physical tools but he's unbelievably passive on offense.
His role has completely changed. Last year he was an 18PPG on 54.8% EFG. This year he's a 15PPG scorer on 62.6% EFG. Way more efficient, but I agree with you - has all the potential

I am surprised that the Suns offense looks as bad as this. Or is it our good defense?

Suns look tired and are missing a lot of shots they usually make. 20% from three...

whew, an ugly game by the celtics. but thanks to kemba being good-kemba tonight, and, even crappier play by phoenix, celtics have a nice lead.

and good to see nesmith make TWO 3 pointers. maybe this is the start of a turn around for him.

Yes, please make this be some sort of a breakout game for Neismith. He just needs confidence in his shots.

both i think. but the celtics control their defense. that is what will put this game away for boston. they need to play aggressive and tough defense.

the points will come, but defense will win this game.

Celtics FG 48.8% 3PT 8 for 21
Suns FG 34.9% 3PT 3 for 16

Benches
Celtics 34 minutes 17 points
Suns 32 minutes 8 points

Walker at 7 for 8 and 19 points is the king of the first half.
Nesmith decides to shoot and gets 2 for three from 3.
Tatum 1 for 7 tonight.

Not sure how many times the Phoenix Suns have been limited to 37 points in a half, but, it might be best for the Celtics to seize the moment here.

Wasn't the rip through one of the things they were going to stop calling as one of the "emphasis" directives that the League puts out at the beginning of a season to the refs, maybe last season?

And yes, if they would have called that a defensive foul in the 80s, Larry Bird would have averaged 25 free throws a game and 50 points a game.

Kemba and Marcus have each attempted 5 3s.  Kemba with 4 good and Smart with 1.  Marcus please stop shooting 3s and continue to play good D and get assists.

Second game in a row with poor shooting from Jayson.  Strong on assists and rebounds.  Maybe his second triple double.
