If Curry went 0/500 on 3 pointers and then retired, he’d still have a higher 3-point percentage than Ray Allen.

Ray Allen - 2,973 / 7,429 = 40.01%

Steph Curry - 2,773 / 6,388 + 500 = 40.25%
5' 10" former point guard

Career highlight: 1973-74 championship, Boston Celtics

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

Could you imagine a prime Ray Allen playing today, where virtually every other shot is a 3 attempt? Curry has averaged about three more 3 point attempts per game than Allen over the course of their careers. If Ray had those same attempts per game over his 18 year career, then his record may have been untouchable.

Curry has faced the specter of old age yet.  That percentage could come down the next couple of years.   Shooting is a skill but at some point your body breaks down.  Also, they allowed more physical D in the Ray Allen era.   The league is much softer today and the offensive players are more protected today than 2010.

That being said Steph can shoot the lights out.
