Who stole our Chris Sale at the start of the season and replaced him with this impostor?
He’s been breaking down the past two years. Why they thought it was a good idea to extend his contract for so much money is beyond me.

I don't think Sale has been that bad tonight. Actually, I think his command has been pretty good so far. Don't forget he's playing one of the best teams in baseball tonight.
But so far this season, Price and ERod have been our two most reliable pitchers.

Sure, but what's his excuse been the last several games?

No excuse. He just hasn't been pitching good enough. Hopefully Price can come through again tonight. Sox offense picking up Price after giving up a 3 run dinger in the top of the 1st.

Sox could've had so much more. And what bad luck—Dodgers gets 3 runs on 1 hit, and Boston gets only 2 runs despite 4 hits.

Nothing is more than enjoyable than watching the Sox beatdown the "savage" Yankees. Thoroughly enjoyed every second of that game. Curious to see if they make any moves at the deadline. And both Bogaerts and Devers have been unreal this season.

Agreed. Both guys are 2nd and 3rd in RBIs in the AL behind Mike Trout.

Devers is top 5 in about 9 different offensive categories in the AL:

AB 4th
Runs 2nd
Hits 2nd
2B 3rd
HRs 18th(though 21 HRs is usually great historically for this time of year)
XBH 3rd
RBI 1st
Avg 3rd
OBP 11th
Slg 5th
OPS 5th

Oh....and he is 22. As a prospect, and I know this is across sports, he dwarfs what Tatum and Brown are as NBA prospects.

Yeah, he's been killing it. Especially when you consider how much he's improved since even the beginning of the year, especially defensively.

How good is Bogaerts?

MLB is never on Dutch television and it's hardly ever covered in the news, so I'd guess less than 5% of Dutch people have any idea who Xander Bogaerts is.

IMO it all comes down to starting pitching.  We have plenty of offense, and I think our bullpen was getting overtaxed in large part to Sale and Porcello not themselves much of the season, and whoever we were throwing out there in the 5th spot. Sale has been looking like his old self more in his last coupe starts, and Porcello just had a gutty outing so that’s encouraging, and Cashner stabilizes the 5th spot.  Price and Erod have been rock solid most of the year.

If our starters can go on average at least 6 innings consistently I feel good about our bullpen with Eovaldi, Darwinzon, Workman, Barnes, Walden ect.

If Sale can pitch like a true ace the rest of the season more specifically I feel good about our chances of making the playoffs and beyond.

Yes, exactly.  The big news from last night is that Porcello pitched half-decent.  If he keeps  that up and the rest of the starters pitch to their capabilities, we will have a good shot at a playoff run.
