Some players the celtics need to target this offseason to stay hyper competetive and a scary team to face in playoffs.

First.
Resign and trade horford 3 years starting at 16 mill to houston for CAPELA

Second.
Offer Hayward and pick 20 to Orlando for Gordon amd Mozgov. Immediately buy out mozgov for saving some of his salary.
Or
Hayward for gordon straight up.

Team would have close to 35 mill in capspace.

Sign Brogdon at 18-20 mill per (rmoured amount for bucks to NOT match) resign morris @8 mill starting. Remaining amount to offer to beverly 8 mill or so.
Lle on Vince Carter for vet mentorship

Bpa for picks. (Wings Thybulle and herro or johnson)

Brogdon/beverly/wannamaker
Brown/smart/johnson
Tatum/vince/thybulle
Gordon/morris/yabu
Capela/baynes/williams

No way does Horford go for less than $16m a season.

And again, the infatuation with trading Hayward that I don't get

I doubt Orlando would make that trade, but I would love to add Gordon to Brown, Tatum, and Smart.

That would be a 3yr/52M deal for Horford.  I don't see him taking that.

Why would the Magic make that trade?  Hayward doesn't make them a contender in the East and he eats up a bunch of cap space.

The Bucks probably match Brogdon offer.  If he walks, they won't have much cap space to replace him.  George Hill is going to be gone.  They've got to keep talent around Giannis.  He only has 2 more seasons until he's a free agent.

Does is matter? If Boston drafts 2 or 3 rookies this year..are they going to play? I mean Williams never got a shot. Is Stevens going to play Semi and Yabu over the new guys?

here is ALOT of reports stating that Bucks WILL NOT match anything north of 17 mill

He may if it means going to a championship team, there could be bonuses etc structured that could bring him up closer to 20 mill.

And Trading hayward?

At this point in time team has no real starting PG (resigning rozier is a terrible idea) and Smart, while he can play starting pg, is best suited off ball.

so that means we have 4 wing players (brown, smart, tatum, hayward) and 1 of those is older than the others, and costs more than all 3 of the other combined, and team has no PF to speak of.

so deal from strength to address an area of weakness.

Right now its not good to be paying 32 million for the second best sf on the team for now and the future.

Gordon looked pretty helpless vs Raptors.

Who cares... we will address that issue down the line. This offseason cap space is not even necessary. Even if that was an issue Capela and Brogdon are not the players I’d be happy having anyway.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I think we won't be able to move Gordon Hayward for a while. He's going to have to have a solid half a season for teams to be convinced that he's back to his All-Star form.

And even if he is, I doubt Orlando would do this. Only contending teams would want to take a gamble on Gordon Hayward.

Did he? I can't remember, but his shooting splits were good (besides his shocking FT%), and his numbers overall weren't too bad.

Plus, he was the focal point of Orlando's offence on the wing. Vuce is the one who really looked helpless against Gasol and Ibaka
