I'm in Boston (go to college) and was thinking about going to a bar for the game.  Where do people suggest going?  Thanks.

Man, is there a bar in Boston that *won't* be good to watch the Celts game at?

The Fours
Pour House
Sunset Grille (just for their beer selection)
Cask 'n Flagon
Hurricane O'Riley's
Boston Beer Works
McFaddens

It depends exactly what you're looking for, but any of those will work fine, trust me.

All of the places near the Garden will be jammed but I am thinking they might be worth checking out for the away games, when parking will be less of an issue.

Anyone have any impressions of this new place? It's apparently the former Hooters.

The Four's is located right across from the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston at 166 Canal Street and south of Boston at 15 Cottage Avenue in Historic Quincy Center right across from the courthouse.

Grand Canal (end of canal st) was empty for a few of the games and had a projector going, with sound. It was a pretty good place to watch the game.

The Fours is awesome!  It is so close to the Garden so you can mix with the crowd after the game.

BTW, Hooters anyone?  What about Cheers?

Along the 'restaurant recommendations' lines, anyone got any extra ideas for places around the Garden to eat pre-game?

As a New Yorker coming up for Game 2 (I just finally secured seats!), packed restaurants don't bother me at all -- I'm just so happy to come up to actually be in a physical sea of green...if anyone's got any favorites, I'm interested in hearing 'em...The Guru and I eat just about everything, no pickiness here...doesn't need to be fancy...

Depends what you are looking for.  I am a fan of going to Halftime Pizza before games.  It is a pain to try to find a seat, but the atmosphere definitely gets me ready for the game.

I also like Boston Beer Works.

You also can take the short walk over to the North End, and either have some great Pizza at Regina's (although I expect it to be packed), or just go to one of the many great italian places (my personal favorites are Giacomo's and Artu...both have great food, and are not rediculously priced).

Hooters is closed (or did they just move???), and Cheers kinda sucks (you pay extra for an inferior bar/food...it is just for tourists)

Much thanks, Chris.  Although fair warning (and question), again, I'm a New York man -- so I'll have to cop to being particularly arrogant about pizza standards at times.   ;)  Will Boston's stand up?

Eh, as long as I'm surrounded by green, everything will taste great   ;D

Regina's should stand up (this is the original Regina's...it is nothing like the crappy chain that has opened with their name)....Halftime won't, but its all about atmosphere (and giant beers)

The best place to watch the game is inside the TD Banknorth Garden.
