I mean, Kyrie should probably come out and say that he hasn’t decided yet and is still considering re-signing with Boston. Right?

He should say something in the next week. Let people know where he stands. Let fans know.

I doubt he will though. Usually he lets the media storm last for awhile first. I think he enjoys all the attention - no matter how hard he contests that publicly - because there have been lots of occasions in the past where he could have shut down stories in the press but chose not to for inordinately long times.

Literally no FA has had to respond to rumors to "let people know where he stands" ahead of FA. Not Lebron, not KD, not Gordon. Why is one guy judged by a completely different set of standards?

If he doesn't say something in May, he likes the attention? Meanwhile, he's dropped off the grid, he's not doing media rounds and his family isn't subtweeting or posting passive aggressive things on other social media platforms like other guys. Okay.

True, but no other player made a televised announcement to fans earlier in the season stating that they would be staying. Not saying anything at this point, is saying something...

Technically, it wasn't a televised event. It was a season ticket holder event.

And there was always the qualifier, "if you guys would have me back..."

Does not explain away the Nike commercial...

As I said before, he could've had every intention of resigning (he may still, we don't know), but he's allowed to reconsider his options if things changed for him. A 4 or 5 year deal would take him through his prime, he should spend it in a situation he actually wants to be in and the CBA gives him and every other player that freedom. A verbal commitment does not a contract make.

Doesn’t make it look any less ridiculous.

You don’t make a widespread Nike commercial claiming you want your name in the banners of a historically good franchise and then turn around six months later and sign elsewhere if you want your word to be taken seriously.

Sure, he absolutely is entitled to change his mind, but doing so highlights how shortsighted and premature the decision was, just like his proclamation about resigning before the season.

Smith is now saying it is the Knicks and only the Knicks. He said he got texts from people close to Kyrie saying first of all, he is never going to LA to play with Lebron and that is beyond ludicrous and second, Durant and Kyrie to Knicks is a done deal barring something crazy happening. Will be funny when Kyrie does not go to NY..we can come back to Smith's razor sharp reporting quoting anonymous family members and friends of Kyrie as their source. :)

Decided not to link to his new article as well as we don't need to support that guy!

Lol already changing his story. What a dummy. Why people give this guy any attention is beyond me.

So he went from saying 95% chance to 100%? That’s not really changing his prediction.

He went from saying Kyrie was considering LAL a few days ago to now being a 100% only considering NYK. So, yeah, that’s a change.

Dude is a buffoon doing what he can to draw up interest in the Kyrie to NYK narrative that the media has been pushing for years. Just more LA and NYC exceptionalism by the media.

Is it though? Let's really look at the timeline. After Gordon goes down last year, the team still has a great run - getting the 2nd seed in the conference. You go down after being a main cog and they team still plays well. You're thinking, "wow this team is legit. Of course I'm going to stay here." Then you get into the season and things start to go off the rails, you try to get it back on track but no one wants to hear what you have to say or don't believe you're an effective leader. Okay fine. But even the coach you trusted just a year ago seems completely clueless now. The 2nd All-Star you were getting back is taking a while to come back from that injury and you're privately starting to wonder if this is the new normal. Al is on the wrong side of 30 and as steady as he is, he's need a ton of maintenance and load management this year. Now the situation doesn't look nearly as promising as it did before.

Lol this guy literally said the same thing about KD like 4 years ago that his sources told him he was extremely likely to go to the Lakers.

Durant HIMSELF called out Stephen A. Smith and that resulted in them having a bit of a feud lol.

This is one article that explains it a bit: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2575977-stephen-a-smith-responds-to-kevin-durant-says-thunder-superstar-is-lying

Jackie Mac is very close to Kyrie and even she doesn't really know what he'll do. SAS is a Knicks fan and he's hoping this happens (along with KD and Zion).

Smith said he would meet with the Lakers, not that he would sign with the Lakers.  Of course Durant didn't actually meet with the Lakers though did meet with the Clippers, so maybe the sources said LA and Smith thought Lakers, not Clippers.

He also said Durant would seriously consider the Wizards. Durant didn't meet with them either.
