Your numbers for cap holds for draft picks are wrong.  I’m not at my computer to tell you what they are exactly, but you’re missing about $2 million in draft pick cap holds.  Also, another approximate $1.8 million because renouncing everyone leaves us with only 10 on the roster including picks, so we have charges at the minimum for each player under 12.

That gets you to about $28 million, which is around what I have on my spreadsheet I keep at home.  I don’t know if Marks knows of an incentive that takes up another million, but it’s not nearly $32 million as you have currently.

We have to assume that Baynes gets traded right? I think he opted in with the sense he’d be on a contending team. Could be useful salary in a trade.

The picks are at 100% salary, not 120%, and that isnt the caphold, but the actual salary of the picks, as they would be signed prior free agency, removing their capholds.

I do not believe that the minimum player charges kick in upon renouncing players at the start of free agency. We will be using the capspace, there is a grace period of time before the charges start.

But I suspect Marks is including it, and also the 120% rookie slots.

The cap hold of picks is now at the 120% of their scale.  This was changed in the most recent CBA.  And you’re wrong about the minimum charges, too.

You're two for two wrong.  Teams always give 120% to their 1st rounders and the caphold is 120% too.  Empty roster spots below 12 are counted immediately.
From http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q13

Quote
A cap hold for 120% of the "scale" amount for the team's unsigned first round draft pick(s) (see question number 50). This amount begins to apply to team salary immediately upon selection in the draft. This amount can be excluded from the team salary for the current season if, before the season starts, the team and player agree in writing that the team will not sign the player during that season.

A cap hold called an "incomplete roster charge" if the team has fewer than 12 players (players under contract, free agents included in team salary, players given offer sheets, and first round draft picks). This charge is equal to the rookie minimum salary for each player fewer than 12. For example, if there are 11 players included in team salary, then an amount equal to the rookie minimum salary is added to the team salary; if the roster is completely empty, then 12 times the rookie minimum salary is added to the team salary. This charge only applies during the offseason.
