These games are always tricky for me since Joe Johnson is my favorite non-Celtic. I hope JJ has a great game and we win. The Hawks are playing well though and I am glad. It means we won't have to play them in the first round :)

Didnt think I was being rude, just a misunderstanding.   Anyway sorry.  I like this web page.  I just hope we play up to our potential, 2nd nite back to back games, and lets face it, the C's are one of the best teams in the league.  I'll say it again, Im just glad we've got some real b-ball back in Atl.,by the way the Hawks just went to 6-0!  I know that doesnt seem like much to a C's fan, but after the drought weve had here, Its awesome and something to finally be proud of on the court!
The Celtics are only one year removed from an 18 game losing streak and a 22 year drought... Those of us long time Celtics fans understand.

Trivia: when was the last season the C's had a 6 game winning streak before the 07/08 one?

I'd say one of JOB's seasons here, I remember some decent streaks. 2002-03 is my guess.

More recent than that. The C's had a 7 game win streak in 04-05 after the second Walker trade. From March 9th to March 19th.

While looking I discovered something that surprised me, we had a 5 game win streak in 06-07. From Dec 9th to Dec 16th.

I'm looking forward to the C's ending Atlanta's unbeaten start to the season.

Me too.
Bye-bye, oh perfect record!

We are going to make the Lakers the only undefeated team in the League, right? It's one of the very rare cases where a win comes with a downside attached.  :P

I'm yet to watch the Hawks playing this season, except for some very short moments. Being somewhat pessimistic about their prospects this year, I'm looking forward to see them play an entire game, they've been playing very well accordingly to all accounts and proving me wrong.

Thanks for the thread, FLCeltsFan.

No, Dallas is going to do that tonight.
No Dallas they didn't win unfortunately. The Celtics will though.

Yup, I believe that was right before Pierce went down.  They were really starting to put things together with the combination of Pierce, Jefferson, and Allen...and then it fell apart quickly.

We'll see. I think we'll win tonight but you can't continually play from behind and expect to win every night. I do find it interesting how many teams are now spouting "defense" to start this season. It really is a copycat league, I wonder how many teams will keep it up as the season starts to drag.

I'm pumped for this game tonight but wouldn't be surprised to see a Celtic blowout. This Atlanta team was simply horrendous in this building last year and given they are going back to back, last night at Chicago where the game didn't end until after 11:00PM EST and now tonight in Boston, and the fact that Atlanta is due for a letdown after a great start, I can just see it coming.

It's one thing for a young team to put up 113 on the Bulls. It's another thing altogether to come into Boston the next night and try to score on the most stifling defense seen in the league in 20 or so years.

Horford wins the cockiest player in the league award. I despise him so much for disrespecting The Truth like he did I hope KG or Perk destroys him down low. I really want there to be a fight. Can't we just put Scal in to throw some punches  ;)

  • Let's Go Celtics
The Hawks made the first two weeks of the playoffs hell for us last year.  We made the last 2 and a half hours of their season hell.  This should be a good one.

I'd love to give them another beating ala Game 7 to make up for the agita they caused us in that first round.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."
