Those pesky Lakers continue to keep killing playoff-caliber teams left and right on the road. Miami Heat was the next victim suffering their first home loss of the year :(
Miami isn't that good.  They're 4-6 against .500 or better teams.  14-1 against below .500 teams.

Aside from the Bucks and Clippers, it seems like every team isn’t good enough for the Lakers though.  :-\

That's why the approach of waiting for another time to upgrade this Celtics team is not ideal.

Right now it doesn't bother some Celtic fans who hate the Lakers.

But what happens if the Lakers get banner 17?

I'm sure a lot of Celtic fans will be upset why there was no move from the Celts to stop the Lakers from winning another championship.

I hate to say it but waiting for Anthony Davis to get injured is just lame.

Danny Ainge is a gambler and very unpredictable.

That's why I believe Ainge will not repeat the mistake of last season.
Last season Ainge didn't make a trade to upgrade the roster.
All the top 3 teams in the east made upgrades at the trade deadline last season.
This time around, I think Ainge will pull the trigger.

Unfortunately, I think the Lakers are going to win their 17th champoinship this year. All it takes is two-generational talented players in LeBron and Davis. Even the mighty Western Conference elites are having trouble slowing them down.

Ainge needs to pull a trigger and start competing. Can't always be waiting for next year and next year and next year cuz it's already been 11 years, and about to be 10 years since this team's last appearance in the Finals.

That is a bit deceiving though as only 2 of those above .500 teams they faced in Miami (blew out Houston and the loss to the Lakers last night).  Loss at Min. on the 2nd night of a back to back after beating Mil. in O.T..  Loss at Den.  Loss at Lakers 2nd night of a back to back.  Loss at Philly 2nd night back to back.  Loss at Hou..  Loss at Boston 2nd night back to back after beating Tor. in O.T..

LOL at the quality of teams they have had to play on the 2nd night of those back to backs.  Min., Lakers, Philly, Boston and now later today Dallas all on the road.

Miami hasn't played the toughest schedule but many of their toughest opponents have been when they were on short rest.  Butler was out for a couple of those losses and Winslow and Dragic have been out for a while also.  They can compete with anyone when they are at full strength.

Disagree totally. The Lakers aren’t winning the title this year. They won’t beat the Clippers in a 7 game series. Clips too long and they have the bodies to match up. Kawhi and PG, come on. LeBron couldn’t beat Kawhi in his prime never mind now. These regular season wins are meaningless, it all comes down to those 2 teams. Love the Clips depth. That said, Danny should sit tight for now, there’s nothing out there worth doing, this season all about LA

Disagree with you on the Lakers getting #17 this season.

Agree with you on Ainge must start competing and not wait for next year or next year or next year.

Solid counterpoint except when did the TWolves become a quality team?

Coach Glenn "Doc" Rivers is one of the greatest coaches of the last 10-15 years.

Not only did he win Coach of the Year in ORL but he won BOS's 17th Banner, got us close several times and NOW he is making LAC a contender- once again.

Additionally - he turned Tobias Harris from a volume chucker in ORL to a borderline All-Star in PHI. Harris' turnaround started in LAC - under Doc.

Love ya, Doc.

I love Coach Stevens too - don't get me wrong. But Doc Rivers is seemingly an underrated coach.

Harris's turnaround actually began in Detroit early in the 2017-18 season when he shot himself into All-Star consideration for the Pistons.

His numbers look very similar throughout his whole career other than a couple years where his 3pt percentage was higher than usual.

I'm pretty much resigned to the Bucks winning the East again.

Still have hope we can somehow grab the 2nd seed.

Hoping that the Heat can grab the 3rd seed, and squeeze out the Sixers.  Am skeptical but hopeful at the same time.

That way our path to the ECF is much easier; let the Sixers and Bucks duke it out.

Meanwhile, in the West, hoping the Clippers can take care of the Lakers. We've somewhat proven we can hang with the Clips. I'm afraid the Lakers would destroy us in NBA Finals.  Just a horrible match up for us.

Man, for all of us here who made fun of Dwight Howard being a joke/washed up, etc. etc., and no way should we sign him, we look pretty stupid right about now. Howard would be absolutely perfect fit as a back up center for us right about now.

Where did I say they were?  The 5 teams Miami will have played on the road, in the 2nd game of their back to backs are a combined 48 games over .500.  They played @Minny without Butler, after beating Milwaukee in overtime the night before.  They have played a cupcake home schedule and a brutal road schedule thus far.  Them being 18-7 against that schedule is actually very good.

Coach Glenn "Doc" Rivers is one of the greatest coaches of the last 10-15 years.

Doc will easily be in the HOF one day for his coaching career.

Popovich, Rivers, Spoelstra, Kerr, Carlisle

That is the top 5 currently in the league.

Kerr has proven this season that he’s a very overrated coach.  Didn’t Luke Walton win like 20 straight while Kerr was out for health reasons?

So not the best but possibly second best out of the 6? Don’t you think rings are important in the above consideration?

Interesting Post.

So far, Coach Stevens has produced a Treadmill Celtics Team....we are stuck on a seemingly proverbial jog over the last few years.

Here's hoping that we will NOT have a disastrous dismount.
