What the? Dahntay Jones is not a PF.
They'll play Granger at PF and Jones at SF probably. What about Hansbrough? Isn't he playing for them yet?
We better hope Pierce is playing tonight, Granger could go off for 45 points (I'm not kidding) if we don't have somebody of decent size guarding him. Though if they do play Granger at PF, Garnett could perhaps do a decent job on him.
Yeah Dahntay plays the 3, but they're really running a lineup without a 4 if anything, so it's all the same.
Look at Granger's stats this year so far. He could get it going tonight, but if we play him tough this will be a laugher.
Granger's averaging almost 25 ppg, 6 rebounds, a block, a steal, a couple assists. Those are very similar to his stats last year. He regularly put up video game numbers (40+) last year, so there's no reason to believe he couldn't do the same tonight.
See I'm reading the stat line differently. Granger's 3pt % for the month of november is about 25%. He's still scoring, but that's mostly because no one else is.
If we can keep him from opening up his 3pt game tonight, with our interior tough defense of Perkins, Garnett, Wallace, and Williams...we stand a really good chance of minimalizing mr granger.
That's not to say I'm knocking his talent, I just think we have a pretty good chance of rocking him tonight because he doesn't have as much confidence in his 3pt shot.
Here's what Granger said about it:
I just tried to switch it up," he said. "Sometimes, if I hoist a few threes and miss them at the beginning of the game, I kind of start off bad. I started trying to take it to the goal first. I got a layup, hit a few mid-range jump shots. I tried to stay away from a whole lot of 3-pointers. It was effective."
Granger, shooting 29.3 percent from behind the arc after connecting on 40.4 percent each of the last two seasons, attempted a season-low seven 3-pointers Wednesday, but his 24 field-goal attempts were a season-high.
