none of this matters, kyrie's walking.

I don't think he walks from what is essentially a brand new team with AD. If he wants a different situation, that is also a really good one, it would be right in front of him in Boston.

Not to mention Boston will have the far superior supporting cast still.
KD, NY, 3rd pick and Knick's cast> AD, Bos, C's cast for Irving.

The biggest player I'm willing to give up for a one year rental of AD is Smart, with picks. If he's truly interested let's try to get him in FA next year.

LA can sell the farm cuz of the Rich Paul connection, so I'm sure some measure of behind the scenes certainty exists for that FO...

If Tatum's ceiling is really an all-star, you don't give that up in this luxury tax era for a rental.

Who knows he could go to LA and have a year just like KI just had and be even more willing to explore his FA options next year.

Griffin laughs at this

Lakers will gladly give up what it takes to bring him in a year early imo

The bigger implication in this report is that if the report is accurate is that Ainge clearly must not think Irving is going to re-sign if it doesn't acquire Davis.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I think it has as much or more to do with sending out the young guys who have ego clashes with him in an AD deal than it does getting AD.

Getting rid of Tatum, Brown, and Rozier is going to be key to keeping Kyrie.

I don't think Brown and Tatum are issues for Irving. He stays late with those guys and has done activities outside of work with them. He also knows they are in tough spots.

BS talked about pressure and fit as well as adjustments. Irving was rolling with Tatum last year and this year he started connecting with Brown. He wants guys to play a certain way is all.

The real issue is KD and NY being a big draw for Irving. I don't think BS or the young guys hurt our chances.

Kyrie is looking for "control" at this stage of his career

he will try to prevent last season at all cost

so if Danny is really interested to signing Kyrie.... it will take more than trading for AD

I would imagine, CBS will be gone next....  hayward could get kicked out.  Half the roster filled with guys like Ilyasova of the world.  Role players

I hope that he is ok

but Celts media and fans are left in the dark right now

it is unsettling

he needs to come on T&R or have a small press .... something

uh, no?

KD, Frank, DSJ, Robinson, Knox, Barrett

AD, Horford, Hayward, Brown, Morris, Baynes, etc.

Brown alone is better than anyone on that NYK team not named KD, and I listed him as potentially 4th on this team. (assuming Hayward gets to 80%)

He's recovering from a heart attack. The fans can absolutely wait.

Yup, Zarren can do interviews as needed. Ainge gets all the time he needs.

Plus its another 45 days before this can be resolved anyways.

For the love of God I can't believe how anyone would think average players on loser Knicks team are of more value then Tatum and Brown who are both proven players on a good team who have showed can excel in playoffs. Don't forget Boston was still a playoff team who just lost to a loaded up 60 win team. A better team.

Now a team with Irving, Davis, Horford and Haywood at the core with parts around them can contend. Dannys plan. All this talk for the most part has been made up conjecture.

Don't buy into all you read.

KD and the City/market alone is uncomparable.

The roster of Barrett, Knox, DSJ, and Robinson is better long term than the C's. C's Morris and Baynes are questions. Horford is getting old. Hayward is a shadow of his former self. Brown is good but its likely Barrett will be a much better player.

I highly doubt this take is true. Kyrie is one of the players who will least likely want control. Not every superstar is Lebron. Kyrie (from his interviews) strikes me as a guy who just loves to play and thinks that player management and front office stuff are all distractions (rather than tools of control, like Lebron)

I would think (after this season) that what kyrie wants is a team with vets. It wouldn’t surprise me if kyries favorite teammates are Horford and Smart. Two guys who play hard, don’t seek the limelight, can be trusted, and who hold themselves accountable. They also shore up his limitations on the floor (which I’m fairly sure he’s aware of) rather than try and imitate him on the floor (ala Tatum or Rozier)
