IT got his teammates involved too. He trusted the players around him and they felt that.

Kyrie doesn't trust anyone on this team presently.

IT averaged .4 assists during "clutch time" during the 16/17 season. Kyrie averages .9 assists in that time frame.
No no no! No stats! No evidence! No proof!

Lol. But honestly at least IT got us to the ECF, Kyrie may not even get us out of the second round at this point.

To get an assist, the person you pass to has to make the bucket.  Kyrie has better players around him than IT did.  IT's ability to draw fouls is a big plus in his column.

Tonight's game aside, Kyrie!

I am sorry but Isaiah is not even in the same league as Kyrie is (and this coming on the heels of a game where I am very disappointed in the way Kyrie played.)

I don't understand comments like this, since the question is defined as "pre-injury".

"Not even in the same league"?  How do you figure?

I mean Kyrie is a better player than Isaiah was. Not that hard to figure out.

Better scorer, better ball handler, better passer, better at getting to the rim.

It's an opinion that might not coincide with yours, but it's my opinion nonetheless.

Pretty sure comparing two different players is more subjective than anything else.

Not letting tonight's game cloud my belief.

Well, I guess it depends on how much stock you put into longevity. 2016-2017 IT was magical, but Kyrie has been doing it his whole career, through multiple playoff runs. If I had to choose, I'd give the edge to Kyrie.

this.  IT was incredible that season but Kyrie has been doing it longer.

Here's some stats on clutch scoring from this season, I hope I did this right...it's from the NBA.com stats site of players who played at least 15 games where the point differential was 5 or less with 5 mins to go.

And here's the same query from 2016-17.

So IT has a slightly higher points scored in clutch minutes than Kyrie but it's not by much and both are in the top 5.

Disclaimer: obviously these stats will favor players who have the ball in their hands and making plays during clutch minutes.
