A rough estimate of TB's Greatest Peaks prior to this update going off of his old content (eg. RealGM forum posts, Backpicks top 40 project CORP, etc)
1. '89-91 Michael Jordan
2. '00 Shaquille O'Neal
3. '13 LeBron James
4. '93 Hakeem Olajuwon
5. '77 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
6. '04 Kevin Garnett
7. '77 Bill Walton (he rates Walton really highly from his RealGM posts so I'm putting him next to Jabbar here)
8. '67 Wilt Chamberlain
9. '02-03 Tim Duncan
10. '17 Stephen Curry (he dings Curry's 2016 season due to injuries in the postseason, his 2016 run would've been a top 5 peak if he approximated his RS production in the playoffs)
11. '62-'64 Bill Russell
12. '86 Larry Bird
13. '91, '95, '96 David Robinson
14. '87 Magic Johnson
15. '66 Jerry West

Going to be very interesting to see how he differentiates between some of the players (especially after the top 4, a ton of those peaks after the top 4 are really close) with his updates as well as applying context to some of them.

I disagree with the rankings, to a certain extent, but love to see Walton getting some love. He was ahead of his time by decades
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

It's a bit outdated so he probably has made some changes to it, and this list is what I've compiled from his CORP graphs in his top 40 project a few years ago + his RealGM posts that are almost a decade old  so please don't take it as his exact opinion even back then.

Bird's '85 campaign got dinged by TB due to the hand injury he got in the postseason.

I want to hear the argument for Peak Wilt not being in the top seven.

Decent list.   Can certainly argue about the ordering but decent.

Think I need to reiterate that it's really close from 5-11ish, Wilt can easily make the top seven if he was looked at in a slightly more favourable light.

Ugh.  I hate these kinds of rankings.

Like most, I agree with the general collection of names, but disagree so strongly with the order.  Maybe it's because the criteria for ranking is not at all clear to me.  Comparing multiple-year runs by some players but single seasons of others?

But then I realize it's just not worth getting into it.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Oh the "criteria" is a single year run (can't say for certain because the link is just a trailer, but his previous endeavours use single year peaks), some players according to TB just have very similar peak years. Anyways here's a link for an idea of how he evaluates players in general: https://backpicks.com/2017/12/11/the-backpicks-goat-the-40-best-careers-in-nba-history/

I want to hear the argument for Peak Wilt not being in the top seven.
this was to be my point.

in 1961-62 wilt averaged 50.4 points and 24.7 rebounds per game while playing 48.5 minutes a game. :o

i am curious who beats that.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Thinking Basketball usually normalizes player stats to be per 75 possessions. If I recall correctly, there were almost twice as many possessions per game in the 60s as there are today as well as more misses per game.
