Tatum is killing us. He’s not earning his minutes.

Only reason he hasn’t been benched is it would damage his trade value. Although he is anyway.

Brown and Hayward deserve to start ahead of him as of now.

Hoping he gets out of this funk.

This hits the nail on the head. Jayson hasn’t shown as much flexibility as Jaylen.

Jaylen hit a rough patch and figured out how he needed to change. If he can make the same strides in team defense over the summer/next year, he’ll really arrive.

Tatum doesn’t know how to fit in right now.

Trade Tat er for Ja

In a heartbeat.

I think it would take more though truthfully

Tatum and a clipper pick for Ja @2. I think anyteam not named the phoenix suns would take that deal.

Tatum.  He's already better than Brown and is much more skilled.

Brown has a better motor. Tatum lately is driving me crazy. He looks uninterested, lazy, deflated, going through the motions...he has either hit a wall or has been maybe listening to rumors about where he could be playing next year. He plays with the intensity of CYO ball on Sunday morning.

Tatum doesn't need to fit in anymore because he's outta here this summer lol.

Tatum has the higher ceiling.

But, [dang], he's been frustrating to watch lately.  Especially on the defensive end.

Tatum is more skilled but Jaylen's grit makes up for the difference.

On a team with ball dominant players I'd rather have Jaylen who I know will be engaged regardless of touches.

On a team where Tatum doesn't need to defer I think he's the guy you take.

It's hard to predict.

Tatum ceiling = KD or PG13
JBrown ceiling = KLeonard or PG13

...right now, JB is closer to KL/PG13 than JT is

I don't get the comparisons for Tatum.  He doesn't have the length/size of Durant, though he could maybe develop a similar arsenal.

PG13 is one of the best defenders in the league, while Tatum's defense has been Melo-esque.  That doesn't mean Tatum can't fix it - James Harden has actually been playing decent defense this year so anyone can change - but I'm just not seeing the comparison.

I think his ceiling really is Melo - which isn't the insult many may think it is.  People clown on Melo now because of his last 5 or so years, but prime Melo could score from anywhere and was crafty as hell.

Kobe and Kyrie have both been bad influences on Tatum, both blowing smoke up his butt, inflating his ego and in my opinion making him less hungry.

Kobe also has seems to have encouraged Tatum to take some low % questionable shots, and the result of those decisions have eroded his confidence.

As bad as Brown's shooting was to start the year, man has he rebounded.

He now has a FG% of 46.6%, the highest of his career. Over his last 41 games(a half season so not a small sample size) he is shooting 50.1%.

His 3PT% is now up to 34.2% but over the last 41 games he has been shooting it like last year at 39.3%. Last year he was at 39.5% for the regular season and 39.3% for the playoffs.

He is shooting a career high 52.7% on 2 pointers, the best in his career. He shot 2 pointers at exactly 50.7% for both years prior.

He still is struggling from the line. For a good time he was shooting at 71% or more from the line but a recent horrible stretch killed all that good work he did mid season.

Tatum lacks the athleticism to blow by guys. And hasn’t developed the BBIQ to create a high percentage shot one on one. He has time, he’s still young.

I think Tatum might actually prefer to be traded for AD, to be on the Pelicans he could play like Kobe. And Brad is letting him play long minutes and shoots a lot to inflate his stats sheet.

But he’s doing nobody any favour to play poorly.
