  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Slightly stalker-ish, but it's good to see that he is healthy and finally walking around. You kind of forget how much taller Ainge looks compared to mortal humans.

Danny Ainge, recovering from a mild heart attack, was on hand for today's John Havlicek memorial service, and according to Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca has switched to "a plant-based diet."

  • Everybody knows what's best for you
Chipotle is still totally in play, too. I get the sofritas burrito bowl almost every day (I am literally in Chipotle right now).

I went plant-based 2 years ago. Lost 20 pounds of belly fat, all blood numbers vastly improved. Same or better in the gym too. Then I bought the book "The China Study" and realized the harsh truth. The common American diet is killing us. We're the most overweight people in the World. Our mortality is going down, not up.

The China Study is a scientific study conducted over 10 years. It's worth the effort to read it.

Good move Danny.

Keto has a lot of medical evidence for both weight loss and including the bodies biomarkers. That diet has a ton of meat. There are many ways of being healthy, and it really does bother me when people imply that meat eating is responsible for excess weight or bad biomarker readings. I don't bash people for doing the plant-based thing and believe you can be tremendously healthy with that also.

For some people, a plant-based diet is the best choice one can make.

Get a lot of hawthorn too, Danny.

Plant based is the way to go.Except potato, banana and most other fruits

Plus fish, seafood

Red beef has lots value for the human body but other ways to intake it without eating steaks etc

The only downside of a plant-based diet is higher heavy metals exposure, like cadmium.

When people say "plant-based" these days do they mean only plants? Or just mostly plants?

Mainly

Seafood like fish is fine and actually important

But like I stated completely getting off red beef can also be a detriment. There are supplements you can take of it without all the oils/grilling it etc...which not only drains the nutrional value but also hurts the body, heart etc

Anybody try Beyond meat or impossible burger yet?

Got Impossible Version 2, and I had to ask my waiter if it was 100% meatless.

Pretty good.
