To BOS: Harden
To HOU: Walker, Langford, Nesmith, BOS 2024 1st round pick (top 1 protection), and 1st round swaps with BOS in 2022 and 2023 (i.e., between our first round pick and Houston’s first round pick in each of these years, Houston always gets the better pick)

https://tradenba.com/trades/LAKhLpMoG

Commentary: It’s evident that nobody is willing to give Houston a young stud like JB, Simmons, etc. or the trade would have happened by now. It’s even possible Kemba is the only all-star they can possibly get for Harden (certainly the only 2020 all-star starter). It is not impossible to envision Kemba at PG with Wall at SG as providing almost as much firepower as borderline playoff teams in the west. In addition, Kemba and/or Wall can later be flipped for additional picks. The inclusion of Langford and Nesmith enables Houston to spin the haul as “one all-star, two recent lottery picks, and three improvement picks in future drafts.” Their inclusion ensures the move does not alter our cap situation (i.e., retain TPE).

If we’re confident of Harden/Tatum/Brown being successful, we’re upgrading Kemba with Harden by giving up an upper 20s pick in 2024 and two guys who have shown us little in the NBA the past year despite their lottery status. If the Harden experiment falters, we’ve still got Tatum/Brown/Smart to build around and only lack our pick in 2024, and with much more cap space going into the 2023 offseason (if the cap is managed accordingly in 2022 if it’s obvious the Harden experiment is faltering, it’s possible to have cap space to pair Tatum/Brown with an elite free agent like Jokic) rather than sticking with Kemba.

Rotate based on matchups/fatigue:

Harden/Teague/Pritchard
Smart/(Harden/Brown)
Brown/G. Williams/Ojeyele
Tatum/Theis
TT/R. Williams

Next priority is the TPE or perhaps you save it for a sign-and-trade next offseason (Harden recruitment)?

I personally don't want Harden, but if this is the trade, I might legitimately consider it. Plus you still have the TPE to use to ideally get another really good PF potentially to go with Harden, Jaylen, Tatum, Smart, Thompson, and probably all (or most) of Teague, Timelord, Theis, Pritchard.

I’m sure Houston would get a better deal, but yes.

Honestly if the deal DID NOT involve JB i'd be willing to give up even more than that. If they wanted an extra first (maybe even two) I'd be willing to do that. If you needed to add another young guy (or two) like Pritchard, RWill, GWill I'd do that. If you need to flip Theis somewhere for an extra pick/young guy I'd do that too. If they want you to take back Eric Gordons 4 year deal to save some money I'd do that. I'd probably even do some combination of these things.

But I wouldn't do any deal involving Brown.

I'd try to find a deal where you can work in PJ Tucker as well. So both upgrade Kemba->Harden and find you glue guy PF at the same time.

Of course we would.

Houston, however, would not.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I'm out on Harden. Think this team needs an all star big man with Tatum and Brown not another scoring guard.

I have the feeling that harden will take back his trade request. His Houston team actually looked great with an all star play from Wall and Wood. If harden is not happy with that he won’t be happy with anything most likely unless he ends on the Brooklyn team which would be unstoppable with him and the two buddies

You absolutely, 1000% do this if you do not give up Brown and Tatum.

Harden for an injured star who may or may not recover fully and a bunch of unproven prospects for one of the top players in the NBA? Sure, why not? Unfortunately, Houston must also agree and that is the problem with all of these Kemba for Harden trades.

We aren’t getting Harden without giving up Brown. No chance.

The only possible way we can get Harden or any other top 5 or 10 player is by trading away Tatum or Brown.  Kemba currently has negative trade value.  Our best bet is for Kemba to get healthy to help this team and for a minor trade using the TPE to add a decent (but unspectacular) player.

Houston hangs up the phone. I bet they have zero interest in Kemba cause they already got Wall. We'd have to find a 3rd team that would be willing to send us valuable asset(s) for Kemba. Even then, if I were Houston, I'd hang up the phone. Can't think of a trade that I'd do for Houston involving Harden and Kemba.

I'd love to grab KAT or Gordon if possible.

Unfortunately any trade for KAT will have to include Brown. There's no other way MIN does a deal without him, or if you do a three-teamer and somehow convince a third team to send them the young potential star to Minnesota.

I'd love Gordon.
