Kemba is clearly the leader of this group. They all say it, and things like this hammer it home. He was quietly very solid tonight, fighting through foul trouble to score timely points and make good passes - that cross-court zip to JT for 3 was fantastic

Interesting podcast by Thinking Basketball on the conference finals 4 games in: https://soundcloud.com/thinkingbasketball/63-the-big-bubble-lesson-evaluating-small-samples

He starts talking about the Celtics/Heat series 35ish minutes in and it's a great little segment about winning bias again: people are acting like the Heat are a superior team to us but that really hasn't been the case - we theoretically can hurt the Heat more from the eye test and have mostly done that on the court (a look at point differential will show that as well), but the Heat are being worshiped as a "real title contender" because they pulled three tight wins out of their derrieres.

Late in close games with 40+ minutes on their legs, C’s have to play the Heat sharpshooters who have been mobile and clutch.  And they have Bam and Butler too who need a ton of attention. It’s a load all game but really tough down the stretch. Winning a close game is something the C’s will probably need to do win this series.   Won’t be easy.

Love Kemba, NYC-born like me.  BUT, he is still learning how to be a leader on a playoff team.  This off-season, I would advocate for bringing in another vet with deep playoff experience.

Man, we woulda won by 35 if it weren't for Dragic...Dude is so talented...shame he flops a lot.

For being quite unathletic, he really does have some crafty moves in his arsenal. Even on his 3s he seems to be better at making them once he pauses and lets the player get right in his face.

The flopping is a little out of control and I am glad the refs are starting to take notice. There have been at least two times that he has been elbowed/shouldered in the face while playing D where a foul was called on him; and last night on his lay-up when he kneed Theis in the groin going up for a lay-up, they called a foul on him as well. Don't get me wrong, more often than not he does get the call to go his way, but it's nice the refs aren't just constantly giving him the benefit of the doubt on flagrant fouls.

That is a strange looking shot distribution from Miami in the box score:

Adebayo = 5-11 FGMs 3-4 FTs
Butler = 5-11 FGMs 7-8 FTs

Crowder = 5-12 FGMs 4-6 FTs
Dragic = 8-17 FGMs 6-7 FTs
D.Robinson = 7-15 FGMs 3-4 FTs
Herro = 6-12 FGMs 2-5 FTs

It is so strange to see that much balance in the shot distribution. Six guys taking 11-17 FGs apiece. Adebayo and Butler - the two best players in the team - taking the fewest at 11 each with the four main supporting cast members all taking more FGs than them. Although Butler got to the FT line a lot which negates a large chunk of that.
