15 games in and we're still struggling and hovering around .500.. We're like zombies, no energy, no chemistry , no consistency.. Little flashes of brilliance, but then quickly returning to mediocrity.. After tonight's barfight brawl, I'm hoping that somehow these Celtics will finally wake up and be the title contenders that they're supposed to be.. Do they really have it in them? We'll see in the next five games.. If not, then it's really time to make major changes! It's time, Celtics, IT'S TIME!!!

i'm very disappointed on how our team plays. this is not celtics basketball that we're watching few years ago,if they continue with this kind of play I see a midseason trade will happen.

Nah.  Last year we were below .500 in February... then KG took it to another level and carried us.

Don't panic and don't expect much of anything until after the trade deadline.

Last time Rondo was out in the regular season the team did indeed turn it around.

Maybe having Rondo is too much of a luxury?

It wasn't just Garnett...I remember the entire team waking up last season when Rondo was ejected.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Doc already called out the team. Calling them "soft".

If this is not the turning point, then we're going nowhere.

When does Avery Bradley get back?

I feel like things will settle down once he is in the team because the defensive effort will become more consistent and Doc can figure out his rotation better (for example, Jason Terry moving back to the bench where he belongs).

I think that will be the turning point - Bradley's return.

He's close to being cleared for full contact at practice.

Doc's said they might send him to the d-league too, I figure that's because the C's don't practice much and doesn't think Bradley would get enough work in because of that.

That is very good news. The D-League assignment sounds like a good idea. It'll give Bradley some game-time to get back into basketball shape before coming back to the Celtics.

such a stretch to say kg carried anything...yes he played at a higher level after looking done and after not making the all star team for the first time in his career. He hasn't singlehandedly carried a thing since 2004..best complimentary player ever.

I agree , JET looks whipped and beaten as a starter, he just don't have the energy /drive / tuffness to play like Bradley against the younger -quick guards .  I think JET doesn't want to be a starter at all , I can see it in his body language, he wants to come in , and shoot threes and rest guys for short spurts.  He is great comming off the bench for 5-6 minutes  at a time. He isn't a starter.

+1 to the OP....it's a great question, which I thought about, myself, after the game and post-game  last night

It's a little early in the year to call this a watershed game, but I think that it is.

Rondo will be out for some amount of games.

Two major tells about this team for the season:

1. How the team does/doesn't come together during the games that he is out.

2. How both he and the team react and play when he comes back.

This game will either catapult us to contention or doom us farther into softness/mediocrity.

I think that it is the former.
