Pick A Player Total Yards Game

_____________________________________________________________________
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Week One / Game One

( Thru September 9, 2012 )

ThirstyBoots18 - Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos:  462P - 2R = 460  (141.1)

KGs Knee - Eli Manning, New York Giants:  450P + 8R = 458  (102.3)

Celtic Fan Forever - Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco Forty-Niners:  412P + 22R = 434  (129.4)

Roy H. - Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints:  357P + 2R = 359  (113.6)

33-00-32 - Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions:  357P + 2R = 359  (96.8 )

SlamTheKing - Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins:  329P + 24R = 353  (77.7)

Timdawgg - Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers:  333P + 13R = 346  (102.6)

Wdleehi - Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons:  304P + 12R = 316  (96.8 )

Bahku - Tom Brady, New England Patriots:  288P - 4R = 284  (76.4)

Ronaldo943 - Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys:  263P - 1R = 262  (90.8 )

GreenFaith1819 - Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles:  203P + 54R = 257  (112.6)

The "Finkle"

Redz - Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts:  178P + 38R = 216  (127.9)

** As you can see, I've added a little something new, (late last season) ... the Finkle Prize. It is this game's version of the "Doody", (for those familiar with PAPOUG, the award for last place), and is named in honor of the immortal Ray Finkle, (if you don't know, you'll have to do some digging ;)) ... "Laces out!" (Worth seven TPs each week). Everyone had pretty decent picks, as three were over 400 yards, and only four under 300. As the result of a great suggestion by Roy H., I've changed the rules slightly this year to allow for a fairer pick time, so from now on picks will not be allowed until 10 AM on Tuesday mornings. I've also decreased the TP award amounts a bit to help insure that this remains more about the fun of playing than it is about the Tommy Point rewards, (though I believe the amount still reflects that this is a once-a-week only game, as compared to the other daily Pick-A-Player games). If the rules changes are a problem for anyone, please post your thoughts and we'll kick it around, as I'm always open to improvements/suggestions.

The winning score will receive three times the number of players in TPs, and second place will get 1/2 that amount, rounded up to the nearest whole number. The highest QB Rating will get the same amount as second-place yards, (1/2 the winning amount, rounded up), and second-place QB Rating will get one TP for every player. Also, everyone else will get a TP for playing. One TP paid to ThirstyBoots18 for the win in both yards and QB Rating, (fifty-three owed), one TP paid to KGs Knee for the very nice second-place score, (seventeen owed), one TP paid to Celtic Fan Forever for the sweet runner-up QB Rating, (eleven owed), and a TP to everyone else for playing. The current year-to-date standings will be listed below, along with the Void List ... I'll update the links as needed. Thanks! **

Bahku - Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos:
33-00-32 - Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions:
ThirstyBoots18  - Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers:
Ronaldo943 - Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints:
SlamTheKing - Tom Brady, New England Patriots:
Wdleehi - Eli Manning, New York Giants:
Roy H. - Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
KGs Knee - Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals

Tough choice between Carson and another much better QB still available, but Arizona v Detroit should be a shoot out.

** First of all, thanks to all those who signed up for the first week of PAPTYG 2013 ... A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Push yourself again and again. Don't give an inch until the final buzzer sounds.

Larry Bird
