So the NFL cancelled the Ravens practice today, yet they are still supposed to play Pittsburgh tomorrow.  Ridiculous.
The NFL closed every facility in the league for the next two days.

That's crazy, but probably smart. Thing is, at this point, they probably need to cancel the Pitt-Bal game too. Its not fair to make them play while hamstringed their efforts to be prepared.
They did it to the Pats. Why should Baltimore or Pittsburgh be any different
Baltimore hasn't practiced in like a week though because they have 22 players on the Covid list.  The fact that they were going to make them play a game when they have 22 players ineligible, have been adding at least 1 player every day for the last 8 days, and now won't let them practice is just crazy.

We all knew the NFL didn't give two ***** about the players, but they are really showing it now both with Denver and with Baltimore.  All arguments that they care about the health and welfare of the players is out the window.
Pats missed 2 weeks of practice for half the team and played. This is the world of Covid essential workers work. NFL considers it's product (and profits) essential.

Pats went almost three weeks with just two in pads practice days. Baltimore isn't the only when getting screwed. And won't be the last.

Making a team play with no QBs. Making teams play with no practice time. Making teams play with 20 guys ineligible. It's pathetic and really kills the integrity of the product.

But these are the NFL owners, the greediest most uncaring for the player's welfare group of owners in team sports, so I am not surprised.

Well yeah that is the point.  Moved the game again, now Wednesday at 3:40 pm.  9th straight day with a positive test from the Ravens.  they have 38 players eligible to play right now.  That includes the 53 man roster and the practice squad.  38 players.  Now by Wednesday some of those currently out may be able to come back, but that is pretty ridiculous.

And the fact that the NFL didn't think to build a week or two near the end of the season for covid related makeup games really is astonishing.  They should have just had a week set aside (say after week 14) for make-up games.  If you don't have a make-up game, then you get an extra bye.

A minor aside: as a Pats fan, I was expecting to hear non-stop gloating this year from all the talking heads about the end of the Pats' dynasty...dissecting every loss, every bad coaching decision by BB, bad throw by Brady, etc....it was primed to be the #1 subject of about 4000 rants by Kellerman, Smith and the rest of those bozos.

But leave it to the NFL to screw things up so royally that pretty much anything happening on the field this year will have the biggest asterisk in pro sports history.

Well, what do ya know. The New York Giants have the lead in the division.

They may just host a playoff game, go on an incredible run and win the Superbowl with a sub .500 record!

There’s a difference with this potentially playoff-bound Giants and other underdog teams of theirs. This team is genuinely trash

Are they though?  I mean they started 0-5 and are 4-2 since (winning 3 straight) and those 2 losses were by a combined 3 points (including the Bucs).  Even in the first 5 losses, only 1 was a blowout (the 36-9 loss to the Niners).  No one will claim they are great team and they may not even be a good team, but I'm not so sure they are trash either.  Their next 4 games will really give a gauge as they are at Seattle, host Arizona and Cleveland, and then go to Baltimore.  Good chance they go 0-4 there showing they are "trash" then again they may not showing that while they aren't great they might not just be terrible either.

This has been pretty embarrassing for the NFL over the past week. So they force Denver to play without ANY QB a few days ago. They play this game where Baltimore has like 20 passing yards total and there's just 5 minutes left in the game. Baltimore meanwhile only had like 35 players suited up for this game. Then you factor in that they let teams like NE, TEN, BAL, etc. move games around but screw other teams in the process.

Zero consistency whatsoever in these decisions. None. Baltimore and/or Pittsburgh could still have positives coming and then what? They are trying so hard to avoid a Week 18 but the product has been compromised.

Sure, you could say "it was expected, it's a pandemic" but the NFL had so much time to think this through and again, Denver played a few days ago with ZERO QBs. Huh?? I guarantee you if Brady or Mahomes caught COVID and had to miss games the NFL would actually consider pausing the season by a week or something. Can't convince me otherwise.

Also what's the NFL's grand plan if players + teams test positive in the playoffs? Forfeit/eliminations? Ha.

The Giants defense has become respectable so it keeps them in games.  Jones can make plays, and also many mistakes. The offense is still a mess mostly because they still cannot put together a competent o-line.  They're not the worst team, though, and sadly may be the best team in their trash division, but they are very bad.  I'll be blown away if they don't go 0-4 before their 'showdown' with Dallas.

Very strange day.  Jets have victory in their grasp only to give up a 46 yard TD with 5 seconds left to lose and remain winless.  The Browns throttle the Titans only for the Titans to pick up 2 very late TD's to make it a 6 point game in the final score.  New England looks like the 85 Bears on defense.  Dolphins and Bengals have a bench clearing brawl where head coaches need to be restrained.  The Giants are currently beating the Seahawks 14-5 in Seattle (and it was 5-0 at halftime).

Well then...

This Giants defense is legitimately good. The rest is bleh...but this defense is good.

Broncos and Chiefs are 3-3 into the 2nd Quarter.  Continuing the weird day in the sport.  Plus 2 games tomorrow and 1 on Tuesday.

The Patriots with a 45-0 win over the LA Chargers at Sofi Stadium...

Reminds me of the classic New England Patriots, the 20-year dominance that they had. They can still make the playoffs...

The New York Giants stunned the Seattle Seahawks in Lumen Field. Lost 5 in a row before stacking 4 wins.

They really might surprise a lot of teams in the NFC in the playoffs...watch out, Green Bay, New Orleans...
