This game worries me for some reason. We've been off a few days since a loss, and no one seems to be able to guard Booker. Hoping Smart can tonight. Hope the refs let them play a little and not call everything.
Also Danny send NBA front office video of Marcus Smart fouls called when he clearly gets all ball. He has the best defensive hands in the NBA, and doesn't get the respect for it.
I love the way Scal puts it: "With Marcus Smart you gotta know(if Smart committed a foul). You can't guess"....Pretty true. Smart is so well timed at getting position to take an offensive foul and his defensive hands are so good he gets all ball a ton of times. As a ref, just because it seems Smart must have committed a foul, though you don't directly see the foul, you can't just assume or guess. With Smart, he is so good you gotta only call it when you directly see it.
Sure, that should be the way things are called but they aren't. There was a perfect example of it last game when Smart reached in on a ball as someone went in for the layup. The contact wasn't directly seen be the ref under the basket but because the shooter flailed his hands, a late whistle was called. But there was a camera behind that ref and showed he clearly couldn't have seen any contact. Smart got all ball but was called for a foul.
