I always felt awkward when I went to Celtics games and during a timeout they would do different promotions. First, they would have "Heroes Among Us," in which they'd always highlight an amazing feat of heroism, generosity, or courage by an "ordinary person" that deserves tremendous accolades. That person always gets a well deserved standing ovation and everyone is happy and feeling good about humanity.
Then they do, immediately afterwards, the "Season Ticket Holder of the Game." Now I'm supposed to applaud some guy who's really rich and can afford tickets to 41 games a year plus potential playoffs for 25 years or so. And applaud for him while the Celtics give him something cool because he keeps spending money on tickets?
Right after the Hero Among Us?!?!?!
No sir. Not me. I clap twice as hard for the hero, and sit back down for the rich guy. That always annoyed me for some reason.
Also, I can't remember the last time I saw "Elf."
