Too bad, I enjoyed his energy and play.  Best wishes to him for a full recovery.

BTW, I think Rondo caused this injury and caused us to break the streak, JK but we all know some knucklehead will post that.

This is awful it looked Rose-ish he didn't plant but yea pretty sure it's ACL. It's a big blow Barbosa was that guy that could give an opposing team fits in the playoffs with his aggressiveness. He brought a different dynamic to our team that will be missed.

I feel like there is something about 3 players on the season injured list. Like an extra roster spot or something?

Terrible news though. I really dug barbosa this year. He was entertaining to watch and was easy to root for. Tough tough break. So much for our log jam at the guard spot.

The KG era has been cursed.

08 KG bone spurs (NOT age related)
09 Perkins in the Finals, Rondo, Davis
10 Shaq, Jermaine, Rondo,
11 Ray, Pierce, Pierus, Daniels, Stiemsma, Bradley
12 Rondo, Barbosa, Sullinger

I know I missed a lot of injuries in the 09 season.  A lot of these injuries were age related either.  Just terrible luck.  08, 10 we were by far the best team when healthy.  09 We should have won if not for Stern curbstomping the Celtics.

dude.  what.  the.  heck.

this is ridiculous.  not just 3 players done for the year, 3 players in like 8 games done for the year.

pretty amazing that since 2010, KG and Pierce have mostly been fine and watched just about every young, important teammate around them miss major time.  perk, rondo, avery bradley, sullinger, jeff green.

curse of leon powe?

I wish Leandro well.

Now what? Should we call up a D -Leaguer? Maybe lets sign Terrence Williams to give us another capable rim attacker?

I'm tired making plans and having expectations from this team, while basketball gods keep laughing in our faces... I don't even know how the players are gonna overcome Barbosa's loss mentally, at this point they have a teammate going down every week with a season ending injury... especially for KG and Pierce, it's the same story all over again 3 years straight...

I'm so done with the whole "contender" thing, this team can't catch a break! It must be the most ridiculous sequence of season ending injuries I've ever witnessed and, despite the fact that normally I'm not superstitious, this thing isn't working, simple as this... let's keep this core as it is, make a respectable run in the playoffs and then blow it up! preferably tell KG and Pierce to retire... I've had enough with this crap... I'm done! KG era is cursed, I'm glad we got one before everything went downhill...

Len Bias, Reggie Lewis, Bird's back, the last 5 years... sigh... :(

The only thing worse for an NBA player than a knee injury is a knee injury in a contract year.

Has any other team lost three players for the season to injury in a 16 day span?  This is ridiculous.

When exactly was Doc supposed to call a timeout? You need to have possession of the ball to call one, and when Barbosa showed signs of really being injured, you were just a quick pass and a quick shot away.

This has zero to do with Doc.

While I agree with the time out part, like I said above he didnt even seemed phased and didnt even notice that they were playing 4 or 5. He should have been motioning for someone to give an intentional foul. This didnt happen until the Bobcats were about to shoot the ball and either Pierce or Green did the action on their own.

Outside of Rondo's knee, most of the other stuff has been predictable. We've picked up older players and/or players with injury history, and gambled that enough of them will stay healthy over the course of the season.

Losing Barbosa hurts.  Him going from riding the bench to being a productive double-digit scorer was one of the main reasons we were able to withstand the loss of Rondo.  Rondo's 40 minutes were dispersed amongst the other 4 guards and Barbosa went from DNP to 20+ minutes.

This is definitely something to be concerned about.  Barbosa had been excellent.

I agree guess it wasnt just me that thought this was a huge blow. It sucks too because like I said before Barbosa would have been awesome in the playoffs instant buckets and he will attack any defense. There is nobody out there we can get as good as what he brought to our team. Nobody really can attack like him on our team aside from maybe Lee and the Captain obviously.

I think last season was pretty good, overall.  And the season before that didn't end great but the first half of it was really exciting.  2010 was frustrating, and then the playoff run was something I'll never forget.  2009 was inspirational and exciting, though KG's injury was a major bummer.

I don't think any of them compare to this one in terms of being all-around crappy.

Don't expect the Celtics to waste two roster spots on guys who haven't played competitive basketball this season.
