Let's just remember that Bill always knows the right time to cut ties.
I won't be surprised when Brady misses the playoffs next season.
Is that a prediction I hear??
Quite the bold prediction given he's got the best WR core in the NFL, and a strong top 10 offensive line. Ali Marpet and Ryan Jensen are both really great interior linemen.
Guys like Shaq Barrett on defence help too
It might not seem so bold if Tom has to miss a third or more of the season and/or their defense stinks.
Is Tom at 43 automatically going to take a 7-9 team to 10-6? I don't think that's a given at all.
I'm not predicting it, but I also don't think the Bucs should be considered a contender suddenly just because they went from Jameis Winston to TB12.
Tampa had the 21st ranked offense by DVOA last year. Is Tom so good at age 43 that he completely transforms an offense?
Tampa's defense was actually by far the best thing about it last season (5th by DVOA). Who have they added or lost on that side?
Tampa's ST was 28th last year but that can fluctuate a lot year to year.
Still, you're talking about a franchise that hasn't made the playoffs since 2007. Now that they have Tom Brady at age 43 they're a lock for the playoffs?
We watched Brady last year right? Tom was pedestrian a lot more than he was terrific last year, and I'm not willing to say that was all due to injuries on the OL or a lack of receivers.
Let's also not forget that one of Tom's most notable traits is that he takes a while to develop trust with his receivers. Every guy who catches a pass from Tom next year will be a guy Tom hasn't thrown to before.
