I have to agree that the effort was better tonight.  But still not as good as it needs to be.  Philly always plays us hard.  They have been playing well tonight.

Lose tonight and they still haven't beaten a team with a pulse.

Getting outplayed from start to finish on your home court is not a good habit to get into.

is it just me or does Rondo seem really off this year with his ballhandling and passing?  I know he's got loads of assists but he looks like a turnover ready to happen this year -- this game in particular seems to accentuate that.

I think today he started turning it over after tweaking his ankle or something. Not sure though.

I just don't see why excuses are being made for this team's poor play. Dallas has 9 new players, their best player is hurt, and they are 4-1. Just no excuse for this crap.

We look slow.

This is not a good sign for a team that plays a PF at C and undersized PFs. Such a team should be fast.

Our "depth" is looking extremely overrated. Depth only matters if it is quality and it is backing up quality starting. This is not the case with the c's. Ugly.

Green? yuck.

His turnovers are actually down.  I think you're just putting too much weight in a few stray passes.

the c's have a long way to go on the D side of the ball.  I guess like everyone else we should have had more modest expectations out of the gate, but it is so frustrating seeing a great def. team from last year turn into this.

maybe.  it just seems like he's not in control of the ball like he's been in the past.  of course that could be related to the C's looking totally clueless on offense

  • GOT IT!!!
I'm not going to get mad about the 5th game. That said there are some guys getting paid big money and not producing. Looking at you Lee and Green.

Who is making excuses?

They're playing like crap. They're not jelling.  But 2-3 or 4-1 starts mean very little in the long haul.

Obviously if they play like this all year it will be an absolute nightmare, but are you really throwing in the towel after 5 games?  You have no faith that they'll improve over the course of a season?

To me, that's the joy of a season - watching how a team develops (or doesn't).  Even when they sucked, I still enjoyed seeing that process.

Lee actually had a great start and shot well. I'm suprised he didn't play more. Green on the other hand...

It's a loss, but the C's figured out some things in the 2nd half.  Simplified the offense, upped the defensive intensity.

We should have never made the Perkins trade. That has GOT to be one of the biggest blunders in Boston sports history.
Offense sells tickets, Defense wins games, Rebounds win championships.

Didn't watch the game, but I'm assuming this game for Rondo was pretty bad as 20 assist performances go.
